Finished runner-up three times this campaign including when beaten a neck over 6f at Nottingham (good-to-soft) last time out. Raised 2lb for that effort and is one for the shortlist in this contest.
Not beaten far when fourth over this trip at Pontefract (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Interesting to see how she fares off a mark 5lb higher than for her most recent victory.
Finished down the field in a valuable 5f handicap at York (good-to-firm) at the end of last month. Decent efforts prior to that but best form has come over the minimum distance.
Ran well to finish ½L third in a good-to-firm ground handicap over this distance at Epsom last week. Races off a 1lb lower mark here and is well handicapped on his old form.
Decent effort in finishing 3L fifth in a 5f handicap at Carlisle (good-to-firm) last week. Races off the same mark here and market support would be notable with a top jockey up having won over C&D in the past.
Good second in a 6f handicap at Doncaster (good-to-firm) in May but has failed to replicate that form in three subsequent starts. Others make more appeal.
Winner of this race 12 months ago and was successful over 7f on good-to-firm ground here the following month. Struggled in the main since that victory but worth a check in the market off a mark 5lb lower than for last years success.
Forecasts
Zumurud (13/8), Dizzy G (10/3), Spirit Of Wedza (6/1), Highland Acclaim (8/1), Buccaneers Vault (8/1), Consequences (12/1), Rose Marmara (16/1)
Victory in this small field handicap can go to previous C&D winner SPIRIT OF WEDZA who was a winner at Hamilton earlier this season. The selection has a top jockey taking over in the saddle from an apprentice and he can see off Epsom runner-up Highland Acclaim who can claim second spot ahead of top weight Zumurud who finished runner-up last time out.
