Was in good form in March with a Southwell selling handicap hurdle win and a career best third at Uttoxeter but below that at Fakenham in April. Withdrawn after getting unruly in the paddock in April and first run since.
Showed some ability over hurdles when trained in Ireland and landed a point-to-point in April. Tailed off on stable and chase debut but ran on well back over hurdles over 2m last month. Likely has more to offer and a contender if building on that.
Rather lost his way for Tim Vaughan last year but proved a very good winner on recent stable debut over 2m7f. Up 7lb, more needed in this company and drop in trip to contend with. However could have more to offer.
Yet to win in 10 hurdle starts but has raced to a similar good seconds in latest two starts when finishing second twice. Up another 1lb but first run following wind surgery so progress and a competitive run not unlikely.
Third in a seller in April and claimed by new and in form stable who also won this in 2012 and 2017. Yet to win in 19 hurdling starts but very well handicapped based on 2017 form. Could be a smart acquisition.
Represents a strong stable but has been very well beaten in all six starts to date. First run since handicap debut in February and big improvement required.
Maiden on the Flat and no real signs of a breakthrough over timber in four attempts so far, including on latest handicap debut. Down 5lb but much more required.
Successful on the Flat in France back in 2017, scoring on three occasions, but yet to score in nine starts so far over timber for this trainer. On an attractive mark based on last year's runs but latest run was poor. Still worth a market check.
Veteran hurdler hasn't looked overly enthusiastic in three poor runs this year and he's without a win since May 2016. Hard to be enthusiastic about at present.
Has started no shorter than 200/1 in all three hurdling starts so far and tailed off each time while jumping poorly. Very easy to dismiss.
Returned from absence of 988 days after Warwick win in May 2016 with two pulled up efforts and then finishing tailed off. Hard to make a case for at present.
Forecasts
Black Anthem (5/4), Rasasee (11/4), Sin Sin (17/2), Caveat Emptor (12/1), Realms Of Fire (12/1), Glimpse Of Gold (16/1), Akkapenko (16/1), Last Chance Paddy (22/1), Bulletproof (33/1), All Riled Up (50/1), Leannes Lady (50/1)
Black Anthem represents a stable with a good record in the race and very adept at improving transfers from other yards, so he has to be respected. Sin Sin is in form and perhaps wind surgery could help her go close to making a hurdling breakthrough. Rasasee made a winning stable debut and is another to consider but the drop in distance is a query. CAVEAT EMPTOR ran on in eye catching fashion when switched back to hurdles, he was held up in a fast run race and had the last two flights not been omitted, he may have got closer.
- Caveat Emptor
- Black Anthem
- Sin Sin
