10/11
Finished fourth as beaten favourite in a couple of bumpers at Punchestown before finishing in that position again in a 15-runner Downpatrick maiden over 2m3f last month. Likely to progress and one to consider in first-time hood.

Ashton Court23
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: A W Short(5)| T: P Griffin| OR:  85
8/1
Nine-race maiden over hurdles and has been struggling in a number of efforts since the turn of the year, including at Down Royal on yielding ground last month. Hard to recommend on current evidence.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: T N Brett(7)| T: J P Ryan| OR:  89
66/1
Beaten on chasing debut at Punchestown when last seen in May, the gelding and seven-race maiden over hurdles appears to have a mountain to climb.

Benefit Run28
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: L P Dempsey| T: R O'Sullivan| OR:  95
15/2
Four-race maiden who possibly produced a couple of hints of improvement in a Downpatrick maiden last month. More needed but not one to put a line through in this company.
5
Horse silk
10/1
Has failed to finish two of his four starts over hurdles. Produced a career best at Clonmel last month but needs to step up on all previous efforts to get involved here.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: K C Sexton| T: S Fahey
20/1
Fifth of 16 beaten 23L on sole hurdle start to date in a Kilbeggan maiden last month over 2m2½f. Struggling on recent starts on difficult to fancy on this occasion.

Tapenadep43
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott
5/1
The hints of promise in a number of bumper starts evaporated following a number of maiden hurdle spins in recent months. That said, worth a check in the market dropping in trip.

Tibetan Gold53
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: J J Burke| T: W J Burke| OR:  85
25/1
Six-race maiden who has failed to inspire on each start since October. Tough to see where improvement is coming from to play a role in this contest.
9
Horse silk
Martha Gailt20
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-5| J: K Brogan(7)| T: John J Maguire| OR:  83
33/1
Without success in four maiden hurdle starts. Sent off at a big price on a couple of starts last month before running accordingly in the process and unlikely to be making a significant impact in this contest.

Our Bonust83
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: A Ring| T: R K Watson| OR:  83
16/1
Four-race maiden hurdler. Last seen over timber last September, beaten 36L. Hard to fancy on overall evidence and others hold sturdier claims in this event.

Forecasts

Argent Et Or (10/11), Tapenade (5/1), Benefit Run (15/2), Ashton Court (8/1), Hourie (10/1), Our Bonus (16/1), Lough Sewdy (20/1), Tibetan Gold (25/1), Martha Gail (33/1), Banquet Hill (66/1)

Verdict

Trainer Emmet Mullins appears to have found an ideal opportunity for his Saint Des Saints gelding ARGENT ET OR get off the mark at the fourth time of asking for connections in a weak looking contest. The six-year-old in a first time hood can get the better of the Gordon Elliott-trained Tapenade, the mount of Davy Russell and Downpatrick fourth Benefit Run.
  1. Argent Et Or
  2. Tapenade
  3. Benefit Run
