Running well in defeat in a number of starts since April. Needs to improve on most recent start at Tramore in May but a live contender in this company.

20/1
Four-race maiden over hurdles, never a factor in all starts over timber for current connections. On balance probably has something to find in this contest.
4
Horse silk
6/4
85-rated handicapper, generally well held in a couple of hurdle starts to date. Yard going well and no surprise to witness improvement.
5

100/1
Big Bad Bob gelding out of an Editor's Note mare. Dam, maiden on the Flat. Half-brother to winners Diamond Stilettos, Angel Of Fashion and Mr C. Market likely to reveal expectations on debut.

25/1
Gelding by Camacho out of a Eurobus mare. Half-brother to five winners including 2m4f hurdle winner Gusda. Nothing of note in a couple of career starts to date and easily passed over here.
60-rated handicapper on the Flat. Out ran large odds to finish second of 20 in a Down Royal maiden when last seen in May. Clear and obvious chance in this contest.

Beaten over 30L on both career hurdle starts to date. Struggling at big prices and difficult to make a case for here.

Sharg26
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-2| J: A Ring| T: D Hogan
100/1
Six-race maiden on the Flat, suffering a number of heavy defeats this year. Beaten 50L at odds of 50/1 on dismal hurdling debut at Tipperary in May. Plenty of questions to answer at present.
10
Horse silk
15/2
Four-race maiden, posted a career best when finishing second of 12 beaten 5½L in a Kilbeggan contest over 2m on good ground last month. Requires plenty of respect.

Forecasts

The Last Emperor (6/4), Bachelor (11/4), Morning Skye (4/1), Tomeric (15/2), Indian Admiral (11/1), Sicario (20/1), Don Patricio (25/1), Pilbara (50/1), Sharg (100/1), Bowtie (100/1)

Verdict

The Noel Kelly-trained BACHELOR can land the opener following a couple of solid runs at Kilbeggan and Wexford last month. The four-year-old can get off the mark for connections at the seventh attempt at the expense of Morning Skye, who is better than his last run at Tramore suggests and Down Royal second Indian Admiral who will look to come on for debut run when last seen in May.
  1. Bachelor
  2. Morning Skye
  3. Indian Admiral
