Seeking a 10th career win and equipped with a visor for the first time in his career. Won at Wetherby in November off 3lb higher mark and not disgraced at Aintree last month. Previous C&D winner.
Won novice chases at Bangor and Southwell last season but not seen since pulling up at Chepstow in October. Returns following wind surgery and may not be far away if close to full fitness.
Scored off a mark of 127 at Fontwell in November 2017. Shaped well for a long way at Ffos Las recently before tiring on first run back following wind surgery. Jockey has fair 19% strike rate for this yard.
Won over 2m4f at Ayr in October but hasn't been in same form since and has been well beaten in four starts back home in Ireland. Scottish air might spark a revival given superb stable form but has a bit to prove.
Having second start for current yard. Didn't show a great deal last time in three-mile hurdle at Down Royal but wears first-time cheekpieces, is back over fences, and has a chance at weights on pick of last term's efforts.
Won over C&D last July off 9lb lower mark, and was in front and seemingly going well when unseating here 2 out the following month. Not seen since so may have had an issue but does like the track.
Scored in Warwick 2m h'cap chase for Dan Skelton in April off 2lb lower mark. Won over hurdles here in June but has run two shockers since then over fences and hurdles and appears to be struggling at present.
Forecasts
Theflyingportrait (9/4), Jurby (5/2), Raven's Tower (9/2), Callthebarman (5/1), Chirico Vallis (9/1), Go West Young Man (16/1), Ardera Cross (20/1)
RAVEN'S TOWER is a fair sort on his day and back over fences on his second start following wind surgery he has reasonable claims on old form. If the visor works then Theflyingportrait could go very well despite the steadier of top weight. He knows how to win and shaped well enough at Aintree last time. Chirico Vallis is another ot have undergone wind surgery and remains relatively unexposed. Any beting market move for him would be noteworthy, while last year's winner Go West Young Man returns from a long absence but is not out of it if fit.
- Raven's Tower
- Theflyingportrait
- Chirico Vallis
