An AW winner from the front over 1m2f early in the year he's maintained some good form on the turf since over a variety of trips despite looking a little quirky on occasions. Made all at Carlisle last time to gain another deserved victory; respected.
Three-time juvenile winner (twice in handicaps over 7f) he's struggled to a certain extent this year, suggestion he is on the way back though. Better in first-time cheekpieces last time; competitive off this mark if gaining his own way in front.
7f winner earlier in the year off 2lb lower his last two starts here have suggested he's still in good form although he slightly overdid his efforts to hold a good pitch last time. Not well drawn this time; may be forced to use more patient tactics.
Gelded and made a belated handicap debut at Newmarket last time (7f, good) shaping better than the bare result (not settle fully). Dropped 2lb but not that well drawn he does have some fair form to his name but does look exposed to any improvers.
Up 6lb for her Leicester win which saw her off the mark at the ninth attempt the fact that she settled better than when previously tried at 7f was a big help. Has been awarded the widest draw here which won't help; needs to find some further growth.
Improved when stepped up to 1m last time taking a Newbury handicap under a strong ride. Drops back to 7f now off a 4lb higher mark; pedigree/purchase price suggest there could be more to come from a good draw if coping with the drop in trip.
Looks a fairly limited sort who remains a maiden after seven starts; well beaten at Haydock recently (32L) finishing last for the third time in a row. 16lb out of the weights and makes very little appeal even with the plum draw.
Cheekpieces now tried for the first-time on this seven-race maiden who so far has made very little impact. Last of nine (beaten 24L) on her most recent start at Yarmouth (6f, soft) giving himself little chance having pulled too hard.
Huge task on handicap debut from 16lb out of the weights (the second such horse the trainer runs). Showed a very awkward side over C&D last time, always behind after dwelling at the start; never involved after, best left alone.
Forecasts
City Wanderer (11/4), Sparklealot (11/4), Harvey Dent (3/1), Chatham House (13/2), Pacino (8/1), Kwela (10/1), Liberty Diva (50/1), Andies Armies (80/1), Hilbre Lake (100/1)
This should be run at a good pace with Harvey Dent an emphatic winner at Carlisle just over a week ago looking to follow up under a big weight although he may not have things all his own way this time around as he did for his last win. Sparkelalot and Pacino are two others that like to go forward although the latter of that duo will do well to get to the front from his wide draw. Kwela can also be given a mention on the strength of her win at Leicester but is another with a wide draw to cope with. CITY WANDERER will need to cope with the drop in trip but his win at Newbury reads well and the pace pushers may set this up for him.
- City Wanderer
- Harvey Dent
- Sparklealot
