Cashed in on a reduced mark back over fences after wind surgery at Wetherby last November and has run well on all bar one occasion over obstacles since then. Prefers these calmer waters nowadays, won well last time (good rapour with this rider).

Showed the benefit of his chasing debut when scoring at Leicester earlier in the year over 2m7f (first victory of any kind). Failed to build on that run at Ludlow when last seen (not always fluent); back off a break, with the winning rider on board.

Winning hurdler for his former yard; been brought back steadily from a wind op leaving his chase debut well behind with a course win (2m4f) last time. Found plenty for pressure (did look in trouble at one stage); now has to repeat the performance.

Took advantage of a reduced mark to score over fences at Ludlow in May under today's rider (goes well for him). Found something like that form after a couple of below-par runs last time; arguably should have won after conceding first run.

Rather quirky sort who can be useful enough when he wants to be and was last time out at Cartmel over hurdles; capitalising on a reduced mark. Raced typically lazily, rallied well to score; off a 5lb higher mark; more to do with his mood than mark.

Can be a rather in-and-out performer and having struck from the front when returned to hurdles off a five-month break at Fontwell duly ran a shocker over fences (same venue). Stamina won't be an issue, but his attitude may well be kept over fences.

Verdict

Some rather tricky customers in this who are capable on their day but you never quite know when it is their day, Dr Robin very much comes into that category along with Our Reward and to a certain extent Souriyan. It may be best to rely on the more dependable sorts with Trigger Nichol in that category; he’ll appreciate having the assistance of Sam Twiston-Davies who was aboard for his last win. Fingerontheswitch returned to winning ways at Worcester early last month and a 4lb rise won’t stop him from going close especially with Adrian Heskin on board. MARBLE MOON ought to be good enough to win this though he’s due to go up 2lb in the future, should have won last time and can make amends here.
  1. Marble Moon
  2. Fingerontheswitch
  3. Trigger Nichol
