Won on debut in a bumper at Naas (2m; good) when denying the well-fancied Top Moon. Failed to match that next time out, but shaped more encouragingly when third on hurdles debut at Wexford First time blinkers on for first try on the Flat.
Inconsistent hurdler; just raced twice on the flat, finishing last on his latest effort at Dundalk and well beaten the time before that at Roscommon. No real chance on that form.
Very smart novice hurdler making his Flat debut here. Hard to assess how well he will take to the change of surroundings but the market should be a good guide.
Had some fair form in a few maidens last summer before disappointing in the autumn. Having his first run since October and will appreciate this step up in trip. One to consider.
Is a classy hurdler who also won a chase last time out. Remains to be seen whether he will have the speed to get competitive over this trip and another for whom the market will be the best guide.
Relatively lightly-raced in hurdles and bumper race. Still a maiden and no obvious reason to see why he will be good enough here.
Inconsistent chaser who has failed to get competitive on his three latest starts. Hard to see him playing a leading role.
Chaser/hurdler who is making his Flat debut here; will be in good heart after winning last time at Downpatrick in June but unlikely to be good enough over this trip.
Showed good form to win two bumpers in April and May before disappointing when odds-on on his latest start at Down Royal. Form hard to assess but given the general level of competition he is not without a chance.
Forecasts
Go Another One (5/4), Chosen Mate (2/1), Sneaky Getaway (4/1), Last Goodbye (10/1), Aliym (20/1), Freetown (20/1), Peacocks Secret (25/1), Ishyaboi (66/1), Bill Hickok (100/1)
Given the poor quality of opposition this may become a battle of the classy hurdlers CHOSEN MATE and Go Another One. How competitive they will be may be gauged from the market as the general level of form for this race is so scant. Best of the rest may be Freetown who at least has experience on the level and has some fair form in the locker.
- Chosen Mate
- Go Another One
