C&D winner in December of last year and now 3lb lower. Has returned from wind surgery with two solid efforts on turf and should be fully primed for a big run. Leading contender.
Has gone well at this track previously and now 6lb lower than his last winning mark. Last four runs have been disappointing, including back on the AW last time and needs to raise his game.
Made it two wins from two at this track when scoring over this C&D with a clear career best on his first run since wind surgery. Up 7lb but likely he has plenty more to offer and remains lightly raced.
In great form at this track following two seconds with back-to-back wins. Has the pace to cope with the drop back in trip and despite the step up in grade, a rise of just 2lb shouldn't prevent him being involved.
Last five of his eight career wins have come at this course although all at 6f. Tailed off when hampered at the start on recent stable debut so could bounce back, however remains 5lb higher than last win and hasn't convinced previously at this trip.
Just one win from 20 starts and yet to score in five runs on an AW surface. Failed to beat a rival the last twice, including on his reappearance and first time visor needs to have a major effect.
Five time C&D winner and back on last winning mark from March. Below par the last twice including in a C&D claimer and others look in better form at present.
Will appreciate the return to an AW surface with both wins coming over this C&D in November last year. Back on last winning mark but his form since has been below that level. Needs first time blinkers to revitalise him.
Two of his first three efforts would suggest that he is more than capable off this handicap mark. Didn't stay the mile on handicap debut and his best effort so far came over this C&D. An improved effort is likely.
Remains a maiden following five starts but her best run so far came on the AW at Lingfield. Makes her course debut but she would need some improvement in first time cheekpieces following her handicap debut.
Front runner and a maiden winner over 6f but ran to a similar level when headed close home at first try at this trip here last time. Returns to a handicap on a competitive enough mark and no reason she shouldn't make a bold bid.
Boasts three C&D wins with all seven career successes coming on the AW. Remains on a competitive mark but out of form on his last three starts and has never won in a grade this high.
Forecasts
Jem Scuttle (2/1), Poet's Pride (5/2), Street Poet (11/2), Corrida De Toros (15/2), Critical Thinking (10/1), Take Fright (14/1), In Trutina (14/1), Chaplin Bay (25/1), Grey Destiny (33/1), Viola Park (33/1), Pushkin Museum (40/1), Kings Academy (50/1)
In Trutina should ensure a truly run race and she should go well, however may again be vulnerable late over this distance. Corrida de Toros will appreciate the return to this surface and trip while in his current form Street Poet has to be considered. POET'S PRIDE gets a narrow verdict in a competitive race following an improved effort at a track he clearly relishes. Critical Thinking may pose the biggest threat as he should be better for two runs back and is on an attractive mark.
- Poet's Pride
- Critical Thinking
- Street Poet
