Still fairly lightly raced after just the seven starts. Fared well in some warm maidens earlier in the year, and was only narrowly denied when runner-up in a Wolverhampton (7f; standard) claimer last time. Obvious contender dropping back in trip.

Denied by just a half-length when runner-up at Lingfield (6f; standard) last time. Built upon fair fifth at Bath (5f; good to firm) prior to that, so a similar chunk of progression would entitle him to go close.

Only managed to muster a midfield finish on stable debut over C&D last month when sixth of 13. Dropped a further 2lb by the handicapper, so is now 24lb below his last winning mark. Not one to completely write off on just second start for new stable.

Drops back in trip for the first time in a while. Had been struggling for form prior to posting a slightly more promising effort when fifth at Wolverhampton (1m; standard). Needs to build upon that, but a player if able to do so.

0-9. Steps up to 6f for the first time after being tasked with an unrealistic assignment when fourth at Windsor (5f; good to firm) on seasonal reappearance. Was far from disgraced then and should find this a great deal easier.

Much more like it of late. Finished third in a Class 5 handicap at Newmarket (5f; good to soft), which was followed up with a respectable fourth at Lingfield (6f; good to firm). Would have finished closer that day if it wasn't for being hampered.

17-race maiden. Posted more encouraging efforts more recently. Only beaten five-length when fourth over C&D last time. Not one to place maximum faith in but could play a part.

0-10. Never really threatened to feature in any of her career starts. Finished down the field in most of them and unlikely that she will break her duck in this contest.

Forecasts

Showdance Kid (10/3), Sarasota (7/2), Red Tycoon (4/1), The Special One (9/2), Knockout Blow (7/1), Devil Or Angel (14/1), Red Snapper (16/1), Little Tipple (22/1)

Verdict

This is a tricky looking seller, with a variety of different profiles on show. Preference is for RED TYCOON who stepped up upon an improved showing two starts ago when fifth at Bath to go agonisingly close at Lingfield over this trip. Provided he is in similar form, a reproduction of that last time out effort would see him go very well. Dual C&D scorer The Special One holds a similar profile and is next best after a pair of good runs of late. He would have finished closer last time if he had managed to avoid trouble in-running at the furlong pole. Sarasota is also worth a mention, given the fact she is still lightly raced, and could build upon her early promise.
  1. Red Tycoon
  2. The Special One
  3. Sarasota
