Up to this trip for the first time. Fell when weakening at 2m at Down Royal last time out. Had been running well in defeat prior to that.; the step up in trip may help. his cause.

Had been knocking on the door in bumpers before scoring in style at Down Royal. Obvious claims here. Trainer continues to be in form.
Looks made for staying. Won a Listowel bumper over 2m4f, staying on very strongly. From a yard who are very much up and coming.

Hasn't shown much yet, including on his first run for this trainer last time out. New trip may inspire as he's from a family of stayers.

Stands out here even though the last few runs have had there frustrations. Blinkers stay on, jockey's claim is very useful. Half brother to Champagne Fever and Presenting Forever.

Point winner who nearly scored at Cork in April over today's trip. Looks more than capable of winning a race like this.

Staying will be his game but has it all to do here. Didn't show anything on rules debut and failed to complete in all three point-to-point starts.

Not much to go on so far. Didn't shine in point-to-points. Ran way too free on last start here in May. Dam is a half sister to Benefit Night.

Ran well well here over 2m4f last time out. Has shaped so far as if she needs a trip. Dam won in Point-to-Points and under rules.

Seven year old Trans Island Mare. Fell here last time, behind Caddy Shack. Dual point-to-point winner at 3m.

Unraced mare. First Foal. Dam is a half sister to three winners. This debutant is probably best watched at present.
Staying will be her forte, Some decent form in bumpers. Had a spin over hurdles at Ballinrobe in May, rider lost irons. Dam is a half-sister to Ballabriggs.

Forecasts

Lowtown Charlie (6/4), Jakoby (7/2), Shetland Bus (4/1), Monition (5/1), Lord Schnapps (12/1), All For Nothing (20/1), Caddy Shack (33/1), Last One (33/1), Cushinstown Finest (40/1), Hillview Heidi (50/1), Beginagain (66/1), Ballinacoola Babe (100/1), Sparta Maestro (100/1)

Verdict

A decent maiden hurdle to start the Wexford card. The nod is given to JAKOBY who looks to have a future. Conditions look right for Monition also; the riders claim will prove useful. To fill the places, look out for Lord Schnapps who's jockey booking takes the eye, and the mare Last One. The latter is interesting and will be racing on a featherweight here.
  1. Jakoby
  2. Monition
  3. Last One
