33/1
Slight drop in class for this surprise winner at Wincanton earlier in the year who comes here on the back of a creditable effort at Ffos Las. Only 2lb above his last winning mark and on the form of his win would have a chance in this grade.

Diligenth31
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-9| J: Adam Wedge| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR:  96

Yet to show anything like the form that he did in France when with Guillaume Macaire, now tried over hurdles again dropping in grade. Has run exclusively over fences since a wind op; hood returns, others more convincing.

Yorkshire Star229
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-8| J: Harry Kimber(7)| T: W G M Turner| OR:  95

Flat form was modest to say the least with his hurdles form not being an awful lot better (looked to be going the wrong way when last seen). Returns from a long absence under Rules, pulled up in a point-to-point in November.

A wind op looked to have brought her forward from her previous starts showing improved form at Uttoxeter last time (first-time tongue-tie). Likely to have done better with some more fluent hurdling; up 3lb here but with the drop in grade in the mix.

Age: 10|  Weight: 11-7| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.(3)| T: A W Carroll| OR:  94
5/1
In good and productive form in the latter half of 2018 winning three handicap hurdles, two of them off higher marks than he faces today. Not in anything like the same form since failing to impress last time (made little impression).
7
Horse silk
Ardview Boy10
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-1| J: Ben Jones(7)| T: D A Rees| OR:  88
8/1
Won three consecutive point-to-points in May/June having previously shown some modes form over hurdles/fences in Ireland. Failed to meet expectations last time over hurdles here (shorter trip); others persuade more.
8
Horse silk
Angel Of The Northp14
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-13| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  89| BF
10/1
A drop to this grade saw her off the mark at Stratford in May over 2m and she looked sure to go close to following up next time (slipped up when going well). Sound enough effort last time; will enjoy the ease to selling class again.
9
Horse silk
Kapoupakap30
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: Bryony Frost| T: J D Frost| OR:  84
40/1
Failed to impress in two recent hurdles starts (her first since running in this sphere in France; 2015). Won two point-to-points in 2016 but hard to construct a sound case for her based on recent evidence.

Petrifyp,t57
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-8| J: Charlie Price(7)| T: B J Llewellyn| OR:  81| CD
7/1
Dual C&D winner with one of those wins coming in this race last year (from 8lb out of the weights). Fir from a run on the AW when second under an enterprising rise at Wincanton when last seen; hard to rule out a repeat victory.

Horse silk
Mount Vesuviust42
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-7| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Henderson| OR:  80| C| D
16/1
Frequent visitor here but an infrequent winner although he did manage to break a long losing run at Plumpton in October off a 1lb lower mark. No impact since then until showing a glimmer of form at Worcester last time; more needed.
12
Horse silk
Show's Overp12
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-4| J: C Brace(5)| T: F O'Brien| OR:  77| BF
11/1
Yet to win over hurdles but has managed to win over fences although he's hardly the most consistent; disappointed last time despite moving into the race well. Cheekpieces now tried first-time (usually in some form of headgear); comes with risks.

He Is Rosyt128
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-0| J: Sean Houlihan(3)| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR:  70
20/1
Unplaced in all his hurdling starts he remains with little form in this sphere (has won a point-to-point). Showed nothing last time in first-time cheekpieces, would be a surprise winner even in this grade.
14
Horse silk
Macca's Stowawayp16
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: James Bowen| T: Christian Williams| OR:  69
9/2
Attracted some support last time possibly on the back of a stable debut and wind op, looked to need the run though from well out of the weights. Entitled to come on for that run, stable do well with this type; note any market support.
15
Horse silk
Thomas Crown25
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: R Patrick(3)| T: D Faulkner| OR:  69
20/1
Off the mark on his second point-to-point start having previously looked rather limited in a varied selection of races under Rules. Attracted some support last time returning to race over fences (pulled up); 4lb out of the weights.

Horse silk
Kilcaragh Boyt14
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Philip Armson(7)| T: R J Armson| OR:  67
50/1
Has a career record of 1-50 with the victory coming a long time ago and couldn't be expected to do much better than he did last time at Market Rasen (8lb wrong at the weights). Faces a similarly tough task here, makes little appeal.

Verdict

A contest for minimum stakes although there are one or two that are capable of winning this one being last year’s winner PETRIFY who is taken to score again his trainer (Bernard Llewellyn) looking to score for the third consecutive time in the race having saddled a 1-3 last year. He’s taken to reverse Wincanton May form with top weight Harbour Force who ran a sound enough race himself last time. Hot Ryan is bound to attract attention having taken third on her first start after a wind op last time although she is nudged up 3lb for that run. Angel Of The North is one of the lesser lights in the Skelton yard but is capable at this level along with Ardview Boy and Kingston.
