62,000gns yearling; 7-1 when finishing 1¾L fourth of nine to Alenava in a 6f maiden fillies' contest here (soft) last month - form was given a boost with the runner-up Walk In Marrakesh winning at Beverley; stepping up in trip is a positive move.

Second foal from a maiden dam; half-sister to the 1m2f-1m4f winner Arctic Fox; is worth keeping an eye upon in the market as he represents leading connections (Fahey and Ogden) but ideally will need further in time.

Invincible Spirit filly; third foal; half-sister to the Group-placed 6f juvenile winner Eltezam; trainer is operating a 25% strike-rate with his juveniles in 2019; very much one for the shortlist.

Didn't finish too far behind (sixth) today's rival Anfield Girl on debut; dwelt, looking very raw and inexperienced when a beaten 11-4f at Pontefract (6f) on her next start; may require more time in order to fully develop.

By Galileo out of a half-sister to a couple of Listed winners, it's probably no surprise that she fetched 220,000gns as a yearling; 4-1 when beaten 2L (second) by the Godolphin-owned Sacred Dance on Doncaster (7f, soft) debut.
First foal from a maiden dam (Tidal Moon) who was a half-sister to the 7f Listed winner Hotel Du Cap amongst others; will probably find a few of her rivals that fraction stronger and wiser.

€240,000 yearling; first foal from a Listed-placed 5f-6f winning dam; 5-1 when a nearest at the finish fourth of nine (beaten 4¾L) in a 6f Lingfield (AW) novice contest a fortnight ago; scope for improvement over 7f.
95,000gns yearling; second foal from a 7f winning dam (Free Rein); half-sister to the 1m AW winner Finntas; trainer is operating a 25% strike-rate (to a very healthy LSP) with his juvenile runners in 2019; of some interest on debut.

Forecasts

Lola Paige (6/4), Anfield Girl (9/4), Top Class Angel (9/2), West End Girl (17/2), Fraternity (12/1), Gloryana (16/1), Guipure (33/1), Rhyme Scheme (40/1)

Verdict

An interesting and hopefully informative fillies' novice contest in which a number of those declared catch the eye. Both Gloryana and West End Girl are intriguing newcomers for trainers who have excelled with their juvenile runners during 2019, so should be monitored closely for any signs of market support. However, the likes of Anfield Girl, Top Class Angel and LOLA PAIGE already have the benefit of experience having shaped with promise on their respective racecourse debuts. A very marginal preference is for the William Haggas-trained filly, although this race makes more broader overall appeal as a watching and learning brief only.
  1. Lola Paige
  2. Anfield Girl
  3. Gloryana
