Consistent performer; made all when running out a ready 4L winner of a Redcar claimer (7f, good to soft) a fortnight ago; has left the care of Michael Herrington since and rather harshly been raised 7lb by the handicapper.

Dropping down the weights at a rate of knots following a sustained barren spell of form (AW and turf); produced a much better effort when placed at Doncaster (1m) latest; runner-up on both previous Haydock starts (6f); trainer saddles three runners.

Is yet to win beyond 5f and has been out of sorts since scoring over that trip at Catterick last summer; now rated 10lb lower than when starting the 2019 campaign; needs to prove himself over this 7f trip.

5lb higher than when scoring on his second start for Roger Fell (formerly with Ed Dunlop) at Hamilton (6f, good to soft) in May; his most recent fourth-placed finish to Air Raid has been boosted by the placed horses since; fine over 7f.

7f Kempton novice winner in October 2017; hasn't really fired on either of her two starts back from a lengthy absence; is easing in the weights and that's helpful; best watched for the moment.

Stablemate of Mickey and Sir Victor; won back-to-back races on Tapeta at Wolverhampton (6f-7f) earlier in the year but has struggled since; soon weakened once headed in a Class 4 6f handicap here (good to firm) in May.

Seeks a quickfire hat-trick following soft-ground wins at Yarmouth (7f) and Nottingham (1m+); 9lb above his last winning mark and raised in grade (into a Class 5) but won with plenty in hand on the latter occasion; ground?

Back-to-back winner last August when scoring at Chepstow (6f, good) and Goodwood (7f, good); hasn't scaled such heights in 2019, eased 3lb since finishing last of five to Mayfair Spirit over 1m here (good to soft) 12 days ago; trainer saddles three.

Just one win since his debut and that came for William Haggas over C&D (good) back in 2016; is clearly well-handicapped off a career low mark of 64; looks the type to be suited by racing over further than 6f; is noteworthy.

Six-race maiden; ran just about his best race to date on his first attempt over this trip at Doncaster (good to firm), when finishing 2L third to the subsequent Chester winner Gabrial The Wire; place chance.

Started 3-1f when making a winning handicap debut at Leicester (7f, good to firm) in April; hasn't quite matched that performance in successive defeats at Carlisle (7f-1m); remains 5lb above his winning mark.

All out when a shock 20-1 winner at Chelmsford (7f) last November; increasingly poor since (0-5) hence the application of first-time cheekpieces; an unlikely candidate for success.

Forecasts

Tukhoom (11/4), Global Spirit (9/2), Punjab Mail (9/2), Mickey (11/2), Fitzrovia (8/1), Ramesses (9/1), Shortbackandsides (12/1), Lady Of Aran (14/1), Valley of Fire (22/1), Sir Victor (25/1), Bahuta Acha (50/1), Liberation Day (50/1), Sayesse (66/1)

Verdict

A tough race. The consistent Tukhoom starts off life for David O'Meara from a tricky looking mark after being harshly raised 7lb for winning a Redcar claimer a fortnight ago, while the form horse Fitzrovia must prove himself as being equally effective on a sound racing surface in order to land the hat-trick. The likes of Punjab Mail, Valley Of Fire and Global Spirit are all place possibles in a wide open contest, but for very small stakes we'll chance the well-handicapped MICKEY for the local trainer Tom Dascombe who is also responsible for both Liberation Day and Sir Victor.
