Colt by Anjaal out of a Singspiel mare. Half-brother to 7f Fibresand winner One Man Army. Beaten over 11L on each start when well fancied. Obviously showing more at home than on the track.
Cable Bay colt out of a Red Clubs mare. Cost €9,000 as a yearling. Appears to be getting the hang of things and worthy of respect for a yard boasting a 58% win and place strike rate from 12 runners at this meeting in the last four years.
Siyouni colt, cost €130,000 as a foal and 200,000 gns as a yearling. Can be expected to improve on debut run at Naas when last seen in April. Strong record for this yard with their maidens at this meeting since 2015.
Colt by Tough As Nails out of a Tamarisk mare. Dam 6f - 7f winner, is granddaughter of 7f - 1m winner. Nothing of note in three career starts to date, well beaten on each occasion. Needs a sizable improvement to mix it here.
Filly by Society Rock out of a Tillerman mare. Uses up too much energy in the early part of her races to sustain a meaningful effort at the business end of proceedings. Looks a future prospect.
Filly by Starspangledbanner out of an Indian Ridge mare. Dam hit the frame over 1m. Closely related to mutiple winners Ithoughtitwasover, Love Marmalade and Chaplin Bay. Market likely to reveal expectations on debut.
Forecasts
Phase After Phase (5/4), Millisle (5/2), Dragon Ryker (6/1), Lisard Zara (7/1), Captain Corcoran (12/1), The King Of Kells (50/1)
The Siyouni colt, PHASE AFTER PHASE can build on a promising debut at Naas in April to land the spoils in the opener. The Joseph O'Brien-trained youngster can see off potential improvers, Captain Corcoran and the Mick Halford-trained, Dragon Ryker. The Starspangeledbanner filly, Millisle is deserving of a market check as post time approaches.
