Form of his fifth in a Class 4 handicap at Chester (5f; good to firm) last time stands out in this contest and if able to run to that level, he should take all the beating.
Looked lifeless last time at Bath (5f; good) when failing to beat a single rival home. Could feature if rediscovering the form of his third at Pontefract (5f; soft) the time before that though.
Won twice last season, but has posted a string of dreadful runs lately. Latest effort when seventh of 10 at Ayr wasn't that bad but he still needs to do more off the back of that to feature.
Makes seasonal comeback and never threatened at all last season. Would be a major surprise were he to take this. Readily opposed.
Formerly high-class sprinter but has been way out of sorts in recent times. This represents a severe drop in class but hard to know if he really wants it nowadays. Hard to fancy.
Forecasts
Billy Dylan (1/1), Longroom (5/2), Desert Ace (9/2), Robot Boy (7/1), Raise A Billion (80/1)
A race thin on quality with ready preference for the class dropper BILLY DYLAN whose latest run at Chester when fifth in a Class 4 stands out by a mile in this contest. It would be a surprise if he wasn't capable of winning a race as weak as this with considerable ease. The Paul Midgley-trained Desert Ace can follow him home if able to rediscover the form of his third at Pontefract two starts back, while the formerly high-class Robot Boy should still have it in him to chase the front two home.
