Inconsistent type who has been kept on the go since September. Better effort last time when fifth at Ayr (1m2f; good) after a poor show at Beverley. Not won on turf for almost two years and has to give weight away in this contest.
Only had eight races but not showed any improvement for the switch to handicaps. Never able to land a blow at Ayr (7f; good) last time and it would be quite a surprise were he able to threaten.
Turned in some fine efforts without winning in recent weeks. Runner-up at this track over 7f in May. Steps back up to 1m now (unconvincing at the trip) and should go well once more, but little bit extra needed if he is to win.
Won over 7f at this track in May (dead-heat). Nowhere near as good in two starts since then, and now making his debut at 1m, he has a point to prove. Still 3lb above last winning mark.
Still fairly lightly raced and despite having an unconvincing profile overall, it is interesting that her trainer brings her over for this assignment. Market support should be noted and she is an intriguing contender.
One of very few in the line-up with recent winning form to his name after holding on grimly to prevail by a neck at Carlisle (7f; good to soft) last month. Raised just 1lb by the handicapper for that victory and he could well go in again.
Unexposed in comparison to quite a few in this field. Must banish the memory of latest effort when not so good at Hamilton (1m1f; good to firm). Dangerous to rule out on just his fourth handicap start.
Unable to win a race, despite having 30 attempts. Ran well over 7f here when third in May. Not so good since then and although the return to this track offers hope for improvement, he is not entirely convincing.
Desperately struggling for form so far this season and was last seen finishing 10th of 12 at Ayr (1m2f; good) last month. Very hard to fancy in current form and can subsequently only be watched.
Improved on recent efforts when fifth at Carlisle (1m1f; good to soft) on seasonal comeback. Dropped 5lb in the weights for that run and has to prove he can reproduce that level of form once again. Others are more convincing.
Seasonal return in May was exceptionally underwhelming when well-beaten at Hamilton (1m1f; soft). Runs off a basement mark now but would need to show abnormal improvement to feature and he is impossible to fancy.

After returning to Keith Dalgleish, CLIFF BAY has stepped up by quite some way on previous showings for his former yard and raised just 1lb for winning for the first time since October 2017, he can go in again at the chief expense of Broctune Red. The aforementioned runner hasn't set the world alight yet but retains plenty of potential for Gillian Boanas and could now start to fulfil his potential on just his fourth start in handicap company. After stringing together a good collection of respectable placed efforts, Donnelly's Rainbow is also worth a mention. It is worth remembering he was only beaten a neck by the selection when the pair met at Carlisle.
- Cliff Bay
- Broctune Red
- Donnelly's Rainbow
