Yarmouth winner over this trip on debut, but signed off her juvenile campaign with an ordinary run in a conditions race at Leicester and well held on both starts this year. Needs to prove she's trained on.

Wide-margin winner of a weak novice race at Wolverhampton before scoring narrowly on handicap debut at Newcastle. Struggled in stronger company next time, but no excuses back at this level at Yarmouth when last seen, and needs to re-find his spark.

Ran up to previous best in a couple of nursery starts last year without making a big impact, and well held on his return to action at Chelmsford sporting a hood. Beginning to drop in the weights, but still needs to do more.

One of her two wins last year came in a 7f novice here. Well beaten on both handicap starts, for all she may have needed the run last time, and a visor is reached for now.

Best effort this season when runner-up in a 6f handicap at Wolverhampton in May. Beaten in a claimer there last time, and while not discredited in form terms, he hung left under pressure, and can't afford to do that here.

Improved from debut when only beaten ½L over C&D in December, and back to form when runner-up in a handicap at Doncaster on penultimate start. Probably failed to handle easy ground at Ripon last time, and respected back on this surface.

Showed his liking for testing ground when scoring on heavy at Nottingham last month, and ran well when 1¼L third of 8 to Jungle Juice in an apprentices event at Salisbury last time. In fine form, but needs to show he can carry that back to AW.

Showed plenty in qualifying runs, and although well held on handicap bow at Wolverhampton, she was ridden aggressively, and could prove to be much better than the bare form. Market will yield clues.

Improved to make a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton (6f) in April, and not disgraced when fourth of 8 to Furious in similar event there last time. May benefit from that run, so further improvement isn't ruled out.

Seemed to improve a little when third, sporting cheekpieces, on handicap bow at Wolverhampton, but found little for pressure when soundly beaten at Bath next time, and connections reach for sterner headgear now.

Verdict

Surprisingly few of these could be described as progressive, which is disappointing, although it suggests that MOLAAHETH should be competitive having failed to cope with the combination of softish going and Ripon's undulations last time. He has every chance on his previous second at Doncaster, and has run well over C&D in the past. Journey of Life has the form to go close if avoiding a tendency to hang which he showed last time, and Evolutionary was going the right way before an overly-aggressive ride on handicap debut, and is still one to be relatively positive about.
