Combination of hood and tongue-tie appeared to trigger the much needed improvement at Gowran Park in May for the gelding to get off the mark at the eighth time of asking for connections on turf. Won again last month and holds leading claims here.
In good form since returning to action this term, finishing third of 18 beaten 2L in a Cork 1m½f handicap last month. Likely to come on for respected connections.
Off the mark for connections last month at the eighth time of asking when landing a Cork 1m½f handicap last month off a 4lb lower mark at odds of 20/1. Life more difficult under a penalty but very much a leading player in this company.
Earlier progress appears to have diminished in a couple of below-par runs recently. Distance winner with conditions to suit and not easily dismissed here.
Seven-race maiden has raced to a consistent level on his last four AW starts without improving. Down 3lb so remains on a competitive mark and would not be without a chance in this grade.
On a long losing run and now runs 16lb lower than her last winning mark. Possibly best watched unless market dictates otherwise.
Landed the second win of her 25-race career in a Tipperary 1m1f handicap in April off a 3lb lower mark. Generally well held since but no surprise to see her bounce back with conditions to suit.
C&D winner of this contest 12 months ago off a 2lb lower mark. Looked overwhelmed in a Limerick 1m handicap last month and needs to find improvement to play a role here.
Off the mark at the 17th attempt in a Roscommon 7f handicap off a 5lb lower mark last month. Beaten off her new mark on most recent start at Limerick and others look more convincing.
Sole win in 19 starts came when in the care of Ed Walker back in 2015 but has largely struggled since. Glimmers of improvement on fourth start for current connections at Gowran Park last month and needs to keep the momentum going here.
10-race maiden tried, without success, at a variety of trips. Recent efforts have been below par and has not shown enough overall to be of interest in this contest.
Has shown very little in a couple of starts since returning to the track following a break of 876 days last month. Hard to fancy and plenty to prove.
Without a win in nine Flats starts on turf but produced a career best at Gowran Park last month finishing second of 13 over 1m. Could be of interest from a yard with a 57% win and place strike rate with their handicappers at this meeting since 2015.
29-race maiden without luck in 18 starts on turf. Well adrift of the winner of a Fairyhouse 1m4f handicap on Friday and unlikely to be playing a part in the finish.
One from 19 on turf but currently races off a 19lb lower mark than his sole victory at Leopardstown in August 2017. Out of sorts last season and one to avoid here.

The Mick Halford yard have a 57% strike rate from seven runners in Flat handicaps at this meeting since 2015 and their KODIANNE can get off the mark for connections at the 11th attempt in a wide open contest. The Gowran Park second can build on her last effort at the expense of Major Power on his return to action, Invincible Queen, winner over 1m1f at Tipperary in April and top weight, Blankiedoodie. First reserve, Nam is worthy of further consideration if making the line up.
- Kodianne
- Major Power
- Invincible Queen
