Offered something to work on from his debut at Market Rasen plugging on to finish fourth (will be suited by further given his pedigree). Stable only 1-19 in bumpers over the past five seasons; others persuade more.

Stable are only 1-27 with bumper debutantes but this one might be a little better than their usual contender (only four have started at single figure odds). Clearcut winner of a Hereford point bumper (form doesn't look strong); has to be respected.

3L Irish point winner on debut before joining Olly Murphy (cost (€60,000); made a promising debut despite being beaten over C&D (odds-on favourite). Race not run to suit last time, beaten by Flat-bred rival in a tactical race; likely to improve.

Sporting a tongue-tie on debut having had a wind op he finished last of four in a very modest Exeter junior bumper (left well behind, beaten 13L). Looks far more a staying type with this trip looking too sharp.
Stable 9-35 with bumper newcomers (16-52 in bumpers last five seasons); only second ever runner at this track (won with other runner). Only cost €1,000 as a yearling; dam struggled in bumpers; positive market vibes must be noted.
Stable have an 8% strike-rate with their newcomers (won with their last newcomer in this sphere). Cost €12,000 as a three-year-old by Westerner out of an unraced dam who does have some useful jumping relations.

Forecasts

Durouyn (13/8), Vinnie's Getaway (7/4), Nomountainhienough (6/1), Castleplunkett Kid (7/1), Westpoint (14/1), Feu Ardent (40/1)

Verdict

It’s interesting that connections of Vinnie’s Getaway chose to come back to a track where he looked to be unsuited by the emphasis on speed last time in a tactical race and there’s every chance that could happen again here with a strong pace not a given. DUROUYN wo his point-to-point bumper in good style showing some decent speed and although the form of that race isn’t strong it would no surprise to see this relative test of speed suit Henry Oliver’s charge much better. Nomountainhienough is perhaps the most fascinating contender with his pedigree looking modest but Keith Dalgleish brings him a long way for his debut to a track where he’s a rare visitor.
  1. Durouyn
  2. Vinnie's Getaway
  3. Nomountainhienough
