Well held since landing 6f Windsor handicap on seasonal debut, including when last of seven at this track (5f, soft) on his latest start. Only dropped 1lb run for that run and still looks to be too high in the ratings.
C&D winner in the past and returned to some sort of form when third of nine at Nottingham (6f, heavy) earlier this month. But remains 3lb higher than last winning mark and others are preferred.
Has been out sorts form-wise and posted poorest run of the season when 10th of 11 at Ripon (6f, good to soft) on latest start. Dropped 3lb for that but need to find improvement to be competitive.
Consistent sort this season who landed a similar contest at York (6f, good to soft) last time out. Up 5lb for that win and may be in the handicappers grip but is one of the leading contenders.
Hasn't hit the same heights since winning 6f Hamilton handicap last season, including when sixth at Chester (6f, soft) on latest start. Still quite high in the handicap and is best watched.
Showed a glimmer of form when finishing third in C&D handicap last month but regressed on latest start when sixth of nine at Thirsk (6f, good to soft). Only dropped 2lb and needs to bounce back, but looks to be stable's first choice.
Good second of 10 in C&D handicap (where Lucky Lucky Man was third) before finishing well behind Galloway Hills at York last time. Has to find improvement to compete with that rival but seems to run well here. Each-way claims at best.
Hasn't fired in four starts since switching yards, including when ninth behind Galloway Hills at York. That rival seems to have he measure of him and offers little appeal.
Has shown little in two starts for new yard and was down the field as a 50/1 outsider at York Lon his latest start. Likely to be towards the rear and best watched.
Ran a stormer in C&D reappearance in May before failing to last the distance when fifth of 8 at Brighton (5 1/2f, good to firm) last time out. Hasn't won in nearly two years and prefers 5f. Unlikely to be competitive.

Forecasts
Galloway Hills (3/1), Equiano Springs (3/1), Cartmell Cleave (7/2), Captain Jameson (4/1), Roundhay Park (11/2), Gabrial The Devil (8/1), Buccaneers Vault (10/1), Lucky Lucky Man (11/1), Erissimus Maximus (16/1), Normal Equilibrium (25/1), Barton Mills (40/1)
GALLOWAY HILLS has the measure of plenty of his rivals courtesy of his York victory and despite the hefty rise in the weights by the handicapper, the manner of his win suggests he is the one to beat. Equiano Springs has been shrewdly campaigned by his trainer in his two turf starts this season and is likely to produce another fine effort but may be in the grip of the handicapper now, while Buccaneers Vault tends to run well at this venue and can bounce back from his run behind Galloway Hills last time to fill out the minor places.
- Galloway Hills
- Equiano Springs
- Buccaneers Vault
