Out of sorts in two starts this season at Musselburgh and York (6f, good to soft) last time out. Dropped 3lb for that run and now tackles an easier contest, but others preferred on form.
Largely progressive with three wins this season before finishing a modest fourth in 5f Ripon handicap ten days ago. Hasn't been lowered in the handicap but takes a drop in grade and a strong bid can be expected.
Has found life tough since landing 6f Goodwood handicap last season but wasn't beaten far by Mark's Choice at Ripon (6f, good to soft) on her latest start. First-time visor is tried to reignite old spark and has place claims at best.
Novice winner at Brighton (5f, good to firm) last summer but is versatile ground-wise, including when third in 5f Windsor handicap on latest start. Leniently dropped 1lb after that run and a bold bid is expected.
Has regressed slightly since winning 6f Ascot contest on seasonal reappearance and was a well-beaten third of 11 at Haydock (6f, heavy). The drop in trip is a bit of a worry and needs to reproduce early season form to be competitive.
Rewarded for some excellent efforts this season when winning 6f Ripon maiden on latest start in commanding style. Remains on same mark from his run in Redcar handicap in May and looks to have the edge over the handicapper. The one to beat.
Hasn't been able to replicate AW form on turf this season, including when fourth of seven at Chester (5f, soft) last time out. Appears to appreciate firmer ground and makes little appeal.
Made the perfect start in handicap company at Bath before finishing a fair fourth at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) in a class 5 contest. Steps up in grade and this is a tough ask off her current mark.

Forecasts
Whelans Way (9/4), Abate (5/2), Thegreatestshowman (9/2), Mark's Choice (11/2), James Watt (6/1), Princess Power (8/1), Show Me The Bubbly (14/1), Coolagh Magic (16/1), Nicki's Angel (20/1)
ABATE remains an unknown quantity and it remains to be seen whether he can handle this rise in class but he was impressive when gaining a deserved victory last time out and his trainer has seemed to have found a good opportunity to continue his progression up the handicap ladder. The main danger looks to be the top weight James Watt, who has been running admirably in similar contests since having his sights lowered, while Thegreatestshowman could be a dark horse back down in handicap grade.
- Abate
- James Watt
- Thegreatestshowman
