Won a couple of races in South Africa as a juvenile but was out of his depth in the Doncaster Mile on his British/stable debut and well held third of four over C&D latest suggests 3lb handicap drop may not yet be enough.

Almost three years since his lone win but not beaten far at Chelmsford the last twice over 6f and 7f. Has the right man aboard for his hold-up style but small field far from ideal. Also declared Newmarket Thursday.

Won his first two races (promoted from second on debut) before short head defeat at Chelmsford in a nursery. First run as a three-year-old but no doubt he'll be ready given yard and could very easily prove capable of improvement now.

Winner here over 6f and at Doncaster over 7f at two and ended season with good second at Chelmsford. Very disappointing in both starts at three and cheek-pieces now need to have transformative influence.

Won both career starts to date, a Lingfield 7f novice at two and a 1m Doncaster novice under a penalty latest. Enters handicap looking potentially leniently treated and decent chance he can remain unbeaten.

Forecasts

Marhaba Milliar (6/4), Motakhayyel (13/8), Blonde Warrior (11/2), Ultimate Avenue (7/1), Givinitsum (20/1)

Verdict

Beautifully bred John Gosden trained MARHABA MILLIAR almost remained unbeaten when short-headed in his final start at two but he looks likely to improve further now and his yard have a 31 per cent strike rate here. Unbeaten Motakhayyel is the obvious threat having shown a good attitude at Doncaster latest, the selection's lack of a recent run certainly boosts his claims too. Of the rest Ultimate Avenue appeals most.
  1. Marhaba Milliar
  2. Motakhayyel
  3. Ultimate Avenue
