Wolverhampton novice winner at two was second on reappearance this season before two highly disappointing handicap efforts on vastly different ground. Sure he can do better than either but risks attached.
Won at Brighton at two and placed on five other occasions as a juvenile. Not got remotely competitive this season however in three starts so now hard to fancy.
Won over 5½f at York in September, but has been well held in three subsequent contests, including back at York latest. Blinkers added now and will need to cause a revival.
Made winning handicap debut over 6f at Leicester last month and not disgraced off 6lb higher mark when third at Ripon last time. Upped a further 2lb but certainly one of the more obviously progressive sorts.
Heavy ground winner for Kevin Ryan last year and scored again in a strong Pontefract contest on his fourth start for current yard when switched back to soft ground. Second back at Pontefract latest and leading claims if ground doesn't dry too much.
Won as a two-year-old at Salisbury (6f) but has been unable to follow that up since then. Yet to really threaten in two starts for this yard and others make more compelling cases.
Promising third on debut last August not really built upon in two starts this spring but now enters handicaps where perhaps she can fare better. Market can guide.
Struggled latest after going up 7lb for winning his handicap debut at Windsor to kick-off his three-year-old campaign but in his defence perhaps soft ground was against him there. Still must prove worth though off this mark.
Forecasts
Triple Distilled (15/8), The Night Watch (7/2), Tone The Barone (9/2), Queen Of Burgundy (5/1), Three Card Trick (8/1), Tin Hat (12/1), Walkman (20/1), Mrs Discombe (33/1)
Although softer ground than this may be preferred TRIPLE DISTILLED gets the nod for Nigel Tinkler and Oisin Murphy as one of the few obviously progressive three-year0olds. Queen Of Burgundy hasn't been helped by the handicapper but still should go well. Sooner or later The Night Watch will show his true worth in a handicap.
- Triple Distilled
- Queen Of Burgundy
- The Night Watch
