Can go well fresh as he showed when winning over 2m5f at Warwick last season but his form since then including latest after a break has been substandard and at present he is a risky proposition.
Comes into this in great form having won four of his last six (second in other two) combining chases and hurdles to equal effect. Handicap rises again but clearly thriving and as a dual C&D winner a bold bid is assured.
Yet to win over fences so perhaps latest two efforts not entirely surprising although earlier chase form undoubtedly better. Hurdles record is stronger but last two runs too poor to ignore.
Now 8lb below winning mark form February 2018 but that due to a very uninspiring run of form. Potentially well handicapped but no obvious cause to expect a sudden revival.
Contested warmer contests than this last winter yet placed in three of his four starts. Hasn't won a race since 2017 but goes well fresh and has had a wind-op so chances today for sure.
Basically disappointing since landing hurdles debut and nine races since passed without success. That said several pieces of form recently suggest this handicap mark is within range and he certainly isn't ruled out here.
Three-times second in novice/maiden company although yet to win. Changes yards since Plumpton second in April but will need to better that form here.
Six-time winner between November and April from 2m1f to 3m2f although had to settle for two fourths more recently. Must leave last effort behind here but record means he can't easily be ruled out.
Built on promising hurdles debut to win by 10L in a Kelso maiden latest. Handicap debut now but given prolific connections and unexposed nature he makes plenty of appeal and has to be considered a leading contender.
Forecasts
Gone Platinum (15/8), Floki (5/1), Brillare Momento (5/1), Demon D'Aunou (6/1), Uno Mas (6/1), Mountain Rock (10/1), Canton Prince (12/1), Raven's Tower (14/1), Gustave Mahler (25/1)
As much as it is always a safe bet to side with Gone Platinum to go close here a chance is taken on the hugely unexposed FLOKI who hosed up at Kelso latest and he could be seriously well treated for this his handicap debut. Gone Platinum is the biggest danger ahead of fellow prolific scorer Uno Mas.
