Second in a Newton Abbot maiden in October 2015 after which he was off the track 1256 days before finishing in the circumstances a highly respectable fourth at Exeter in March. Wind op since and genuine chance now.

Showed promise on hurdles debut at Wetherby when third of 11 in December but well held next in stronger looking race at Huntingdon (seventh of 11). This not as strong as latter but step forward still needed.

Stratford bumper winner so far been tailed off, pulled up and a faller in three hurdles races to date. Plenty to prove at this stage.
Three-time point-to-point winner struggled on debut for this yard when a remote seventh of nine last week in a Uttoxeter maiden hurdle. Large step forward needed but extra 4f certainly a plus.

Taunton bumper winner who was twice placed in similar contests subsequently disappointed on hurdles bow at aforementioned venue when pulled up last winter. Back after a break now and expectant of a bolder bid.
84-rated four-time flat winner at up to 2m makes his hurdles bow here. Been off eight months so fitness another thing that must be taken on trust but his ability on the level enough to merit serious consideration here.

Twice raced son of Scorpion was a well-beaten third of five in lone bumper in March before pulling up before three out here on hurdles debut in a 2m6f contest. Not seen enough to be confident.

Showed little in bumpers so 33/1 second on hurdles bow at Fontwell two weeks ago very pleasing especially considering she was very badly hampered at the second flight. No reason she can't follow the effort up and go close.

Bought for £5,000 after finishing second in two point-to-points. Debut under rules is not at a high level by any means so market check looks a worthwhile one.
Cost €155,000 as a three-year-old. Half-sister to four winners including some useful ones and out of a dam who was a Grade One French winning hurdler. Once placed in bumpers but strongly suspect she improves greatly for switch to hurdles.

Forecasts

Barranco Valley (6/4), Dr Time (10/3), Nonesuch (9/2), Velvet Revolution (6/1), Represented (7/1), Fu Fu (11/1), Miss Zip (16/1), Leaving Home (25/1), Perpignan (33/1), Iona Lad (40/1)

Verdict

Although yet to live up to her pedigree or justify her price tag NONESUCH is worth siding with given her dam was a Grade One winner once switched to hurdling, the fact she is trained by Nicky Henderson means she will be well schooled for this her hurdles bow too. Despite being off the track for over three years before his latest fourth Barranco Valley may well be the one with the best hurdles form on offer so rates the biggest danger. Also worthy of respect is the mare Fu Fu who ran a great deal better over hurdles latest than she had previously in bumpers.
  1. Nonesuch
  2. Barranco Valley
  3. Fu Fu
