Winner of the Summer Plate at Market Rasen last year over hurdles. Set to make his Flat debut here where he will be giving weight to all of his rivals. Needs to prove he will be as effective over this shorter trip. One to watch.
Frankel gelding who has had just the one run so far, that was when he was fourth of seven at Ascot (1m4f). Did make some smooth progress through the field after a patient ride on debut which suggests he is open to improvement. One to consider.

Was a long way down the field when 15th of 19 on his debut at Newbury (1m2f) last month after weakening inside the closing stages of that contest. Going up in trip here, therefore, there has to be doubts about his stamina. Others preferred.

Cape Cross filly who made a promising debut at Salisbury (1m2f) when fourth of 14. Was slowly into stride on that occasion but stayed on strongly. More expected with that experience under her belt. Expect to be in the mix.

Was fancied to record her first win last time on what was the third run of her career at Goodwood (1m2f) but she could only finish third of 11. Was only beaten by ¾l on her second start so has shown potential. Leading contender on step up in trip.

Forecasts

Shrewdness (5/4), Monaafasah (2/1), Imperium (9/4), Lucy Lou (10/1), More Buck's (20/1), Mr Nice Guy (33/1)

Verdict

SHREWDNESS can get off the mark here at the fourth attempt in what doesn't look to be a strong maiden. She is stepping up in trip which will suit and she has shown enough so far to warrant being the one to beat in this contest. Imperium was promising on his debut at Ascot so expect a step up on that run here, while Monaafasah is another one who should build on her opening start and be in the mix at the finish.
  1. Shrewdness
  2. Imperium
  3. Monaafasah
