3/1
C&D winner who has been kept busy this year (ran below par over 6f here last time). Last win came here when given a chance by the handicapper off a 2lb lower mark; hard to write off if he can bounce back from his last two poor starts.

9/1
Hold-up performer who can be slowly away (not really fired this season as yet) but has slipped below his last winning mark. No experience of this track which can be a drawback but not discounted given his past exploits.

Maintained his form last time out at Chepstow scoring his third win of the year (scoring for the first time on turf); seen to good effect in a race run to suit. Blinkers (worn for all 2019 wins) now dispensed with in favour of cheekpieces.

Novice winner last year he's run three fair races in handicaps (all at Bath) this year over an extended 5f; best effort came last time (did best of the pace pushers). Cheekpieces now on first-time in an effort to eke out some more improvement.

10/3
C&D winner who is starting to show signs that he might be able to break out of his losing malaise. Given a chance by the handicapper an aggressive ride saw him just caught over 7f here last time; interesting back down in trip.

Not seen on turf since running below-par over C&D last October (has won twice on the AW since then); back to form on AW last time. Off his lower turf mark here (2lb out of the handicap); form on this surface of late generally unconvincing.

Forecasts

A Sure Welcome (11/4), Shamshon (3/1), Crystal Deauville (10/3), Whataguy (5/1), All Back To Mine (5/1), Jashma (9/1), Archimedes (10/1), Pink Iceburg (14/1)

Verdict

CRYSTAL DEAUVILLE served notice that he was near to ending his long losing run when running his best race for some time over 7f here last time. An overly positive ride probably to blame for him failing to last home although similar tactics may work this time. A better surface may well allow All Back To Mine show her true worth having already shown that she acts on this idiosyncratic track with a win over 6f. A Sure Welcome and Whataguy are both worthy of consideration on their last outings while Pink Iceburg continues to intrigue if her Windsor stable debut can be taken at face value.
  1. Crystal Deauville
  2. All Back To Mine
  3. A Sure Welcome
