C&D winner has produced decent efforts in claiming/selling company here the last twice including when 11½L third in a claimer over C&D earlier this month. One to note with a top amateur booked to ride.
C&D winner impressed in winning a 1m6f handicap at this venue on his penultimate start. Struggled on heavy going back on turf subsequently and more is needed on these terms.
Well held in two starts since joining this yard including when 12L last of four at Leicester (1m2f, good-to-firm) last time out. Dropping markedly in grade on this occasion.
Winner over an extended 1m here in February and finished a close seventh over the same C&D subsequently. Pulled up over hurdles last time and stamina to prove over this trip.
Placed in a 1m2f claimer at Redcar (good-to-firm) in July last year. Had just two starts since however and is making his first start since September.
Well beaten fourth in a C&D claiming contest at the start of this month. Probably best watched as he seeks his first victory in well over two years.
Fair fifth in a 1m2f handicap at Redcar (good-to-firm) last time out. Eye-shield worn for the first time that day is retained.
Well held in three starts since finishing a head second over 1m3f at Kempton in April and looks up against it on these terms.
12 race maiden finished well ebaten over 1m6f at Chelmsford last time out. Others hold stronger claims on first start of the season.
Fair fifth in a 1m6f handicap when wearing a visor (cheekpieces return here) in a 1m6f handicap at Musselburgh (good) last month. Struggled on soft ground eight days later and market support would be notable in this event.
Beaten 7½L when sixth of seven in a handicap over an extended 2m here in April. Well held last of 12 over the same C&D a fortnight later however and drop in trip not certain to suit.
12 race maiden finished 7½L fifth in a classified event over 1m3f at Kempton in early April. Cheekpieces tried for the first time on return from a break.
Forecasts
Dream Magic (2/1), Meagher's Flag (4/1), Chant (4/1), Hussar Ballad (9/2), Fern Owl (10/1), Hayward Field (16/1), Uncle Bernie (25/1), Splash Around (33/1), Our Manekineko (33/1), Torch (40/1), Shovel It On (50/1), River Rule (100/1)
MEGAHER'S FLAG has a highly promising amateur in the saddle and dropping markedly in grade he is taken to register a victory in the opening selling contest. Second place can go to Dream Magic who has a top amateur jockey booked to ride and ran well when third here last time out while third place can go the way of Chant who is making his seasonal debut.
