Clodovil half-sister to three winners at up to 1m1f. Represents last year's winning yard so is interesting on racecourse bow. Appears stable second-string on jockey bookings but any market confidence would be worth noting.

£20,000 daughter of Camacho is half-sister to a couple of fair winners. Green on debut over C&D last time, slowly away before staying on nicely inside the final furlong. Will know more now and is not without a chance.

Daughter of Dutch Art out of a dam who won over this trip as a juvenile and has produced four winners. Beaten less than four lengths on testing ground at Haydock on debut and should come on for the experience.

Represents last year's winning trainer-jockey combination. Took a bump at the start and had a rough passage in 5f race on debut at Carlisle before keeping on well enough inside the distance. Extra furlong should help. Appeals as a likely contender.

Speedy pedigree for this €60,000 daughter of Requinto related to some fast horses on dam's side. Yard has 14% strike rate with its juveniles at this track. Went close at Bath on second start before disappointing latest at Brighton. More needed.

£12,000 Swiss Spirit debutante out of dam who showed little on the track. Yard going well at present but is 0-26 iwth juveniles at this venue so will do well to make a winning start in a fair event.

Well bred Zoffany filly out of dam who won at up to 1m4f. Top trainer-jockey combination, yard has 30% winning strike rate with its juveniles here and appeals as sort to go well on debut over this stiff 6f.

Forecasts

Guipure (11/4), Heavens Open (7/2), Masaakin (7/2), Inyamazane (9/2), Soffika (5/1), Cloudea (6/1), Schumli (12/1), Ebony Legend (16/1)

Verdict

This looks a decent contest with a number of interesting contenders. Marginal preference is for southern raider SOFFIKA, a well bred filly representing a team going great guns at the moment and with a fine record at this track. Heavens Open has previous experience on her side and should make a proper race of it for last year's winning trainer-jockey, team, while Ebony Legend, Masaakin and Guipure also showed enough on debut to suggest they can win races.
  1. Soffika
  2. Heavens Open
  3. Masaakin
