Horse A-Z
1
Horse silk
8/1
Kalanisi gelding; 33/1 when finishing 12¾L third of seven to Golazo (Willie Mullins) at Ballinrobe (2m1f+, good) last month; this race appears to be an easier option.
Second foal from a useful 2m hurdle winner (Clear Riposte); half-brother to the maiden PTP winner Clear Symbol; top jockey booked to ride.
3
Horse silk
Bonsai Bayh132
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: Henry Brooke| T: Jedd O'Keeffe
10/1
Clearly has a mind of his own, and is impossible to consider as a realistic winner judged upon his unsavoury antics on the track to date; hood applied in order to aid his game regular rider Henry Brooke.
4
Horse silk
150/1
From a modest 2m4f hurdle winner; very keen on debut at Southwell (1m7½f), and paid the price for that eagerness come the business end of the race; very, very unlikely winner; stablemate of Sweet Flora.
Cockney Rebel gelding; €20,000 yearling; second foal; half-brother to the 2m1f hurdle winner Guanabara; yard have saddled a couple of bumper winners of late; merits consideration, so monitor the market.
6
Horse silk
10/11
€19,000 yearling, €34,000 3yo; sixth foal; half-brother to the versatile French winner Antioches; connections are rare visitors to rural Northumberland and saddled a smooth debut bumper winner at Market Rasen on Friday; obvious candidate.
7
Horse silk
100/1
By Faugheen's sire Germany, but dam (foaled 2000) was unraced; 50/1 when finishing a distant last of seven on debut at Sedgefield (2m1f, good).
8
Horse silk
25/1
First foal from a 2m3f-2m6f hurdles placed dam (Blazing Bay); denied the opportunity to make her debut at Uttoxeter last week owing to an abandonment; conditions will be riding plenty quicker here.
9
Horse silk
8/1
Milan mare; 13th foal from a German 6f-1m Listed winning dam (who was a half-sister to Commanche Court); half-sister to four winners including the winning hurdler Credo Star (2m-2m4f); isn't without a chance.
10
Horse silk
100/1
Arcadio mare; cost €2,000 as a 3yo; always in rear (detached) on debut at Kelso (2m, good) last month; like her stablemate Canneyhill Bob, she shouldn't be troubling the judge.

Forecasts

Father John (10/11), Cockney Beau (9/2), On The Wild Side (7/1), Milanvera (8/1), Jerry Russell (8/1), Bonsai Bay (10/1), Lady Bowes (25/1), Sweet Flora (100/1), Heatherlea (100/1), Canneyhill Bob (150/1)

Verdict

With only the Irish raider Jerry Russell having shown any worthwhile bumper form, this race should go to one of the newcomers with the Nicky Henderson-trained FATHER JOHN an obvious candidate. Both Henderson (3-6) and de Boinville (0-4) are rare visitors to the Tyne Valley so we should probably take the subtle hint, especially with fellow debutante Craigneiche doing the business at Market Rasen on Friday. Of the remainder, both Cockney Beau (Micky Hammond) and Milanvera (Phil Kirby) should be monitored in the market for any signs of stable confidence.
  1. Father John
  2. Cockney Beau
  3. Jerry Russell
