€20,000 foal; from a 5f AW juvenile winning dam (Nigella); half-brother to three winners including the useful sprinter El Hombre; ran green on his racecourse debut at Hamilton three days ago; not beaten far and good chance if settling better.
140,000gns yearling; 9th foal; half-brother to winners Bogart, Blaine and Longton. Stable has had a number of juvenile winners this season. One to consider if market speaks in his favour.
Cost 140,000gns as a yearling. Nicely-bred colt by Kodiac out of an unraced half-sister who was Group placed as a juvenile. Stable just had one two-year-old runner this season. Check the market.
Sent off favourite but well beaten with few excuses at Goodwood two weeks ago (6f, soft). Not fair to totally rule him out as he still has some of the best form of those who have seen a racecourse and from in-form stable.
Reasonably-bred; related to Group and Grade winners over a mile. Trainer has sent out a number of juvenile winners already. Market should provide the best guide but others preferred.
Cost 90,000gns as a yearling; third foal; half-brother to 5f-6f winner Secret Agent. Trainer does well on this track and has had plenty of juvenile winners to date. Market should be best guide but respected nevertheless.
Finished third beaten nine lengths on his racecourse debut last month at The Curragh. Shaped well that day and a race like this is within his capabilities. Could be the one to beat.
Improved marginally on his debut at Beverley when not beaten too far in a decent race at York last time out. Needs to improve again but looks an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Byline (3/1), Gobi Sunset (7/2), The Peckhampouncer (9/2), Cotai Again (11/2), Kuwait Shield (6/1), Jamais Assez (8/1), Aberama Gold (12/1), Van Dijk (22/1)
THE PECKHAMPOUNCER has the best form of those with racecourse experience. He shaped nicely on his debut at the Curragh last month and can surely improve. Gobi Sunset might be worth being given another chance after failing to land the odds last time out. Byline, Kuwait Shield and Cotal Again may be the best of the unraced contenders.
