- Quilter Private Client Advisers Ladies' Derby Handicap (Lady Amateur Riders) (Class 6)
- 1m 4f 10y,
- 11 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Placed on all four starts in 2019, rising 6lb in the process; translated his Newcastle AW form back to turf when finishing 1½L third to Buckland Boy at Thirsk (1m4f, good) in April.
Has had various trainers over the years, including Jim Goldie and Iain Jardine; back in the winners enclosure for the first time in a while at Haydock (1m3½f, soft) a fortnight ago when beating today's rivals Earthly and Iolani; 2lb higher.
Veteran front-runner who is best when able to boss the opposition uncontested from an early stage; placed on his last two visits to Ripon and able to compete off a much lower handicap mark here; out of form.
Recorded a second AW win when scoring on Tapeta at Newcastle (1m4½f) in January; 3lb higher here on return from an 81 day absence; first runner as an owner for today's rider Becky Brisbourne; debut for Kevin Frost.
Rattled off a hat-trick of hurdle wins last autumn; posted a solid run on the Flat at Haydock (1m3½f, soft) a fortnight ago when finishing just over 1L third to today's rivals Thorntoun Care and Earthly; 2lb better off.
Lightly-raced mare who has evidently had her issues since winning at Newcastle (1m) in September 2016; 1lb lower than when finishing 1L third to Captain Pugwash at Wetherby (1m2f) in May; stamina reserves?
German import (soft ground winner); 0-4 since joining Archie Watson and it's far from clear as to what constitutes her optimum trip; cheekpieces are applied; others preferred.
Still seeking a first win on turf (0-17) but he's getting steadily closer having already finished second twice in 2019, including at Carlisle (1m1f, good to soft) last week when beaten a neck by the subsequent winner Edgar Allan Poe; chance.
18-race turf maiden; split today's rivals Thorntoun Care (winner) and Iolani (third) at Haydock latest; solid stamina wise - stays upto 2m; top-notch rider Serena Brotherton takes the mount.
Pontefract specialist; finished fourth in this race in 2018 (beaten 13L); work to do with the likes of Thorntoun Care, Earthly and Iolani on the basis of recent Haydock form; not difficult to imagine that he'll find a few stronger.
Historically has shown a liking for Ripon, although admittedly has been well beaten in this race in each of the past two years; posted a poor effort at Redcar recently (1m2f, good to firm); evidently isn't the force of old; look elsewhere.
