Prolific point-to-point winner, grabbed his first hunter chase in April at Chepstow and has since run well off this mark over fences at Stratford. Drop in distance not a sure positive going over hurdles.
Handicapper has offered a chance this term and took second spot over this sort of trip on penultimate start at Huntingdon last month on good ground. Faded since over further at Cartmel. Could bounce back.
Winner at Kelso in 2017 from this mark over 2m, has run three creditable races this spring over similar trips at Chepstow, Worcester and Newton Abbot (twice placed) and should give another good account now.
Well held at Warwick (2m, good; 33-1) last month on return from more than 600 days off, would need to see something positive before weighing in behind.
Has a habit of pulling hard in his races to his own detriment, yet to win in seven starts and form has been regressive since early in the year; poor run at Ludlow over 2m5½f latest.
Looked promising in two maiden hurdles this spring at up to 2m5f and confirmed that with runner-up finish on handicap bow at Stratford (2m2½f, good to soft; 11/4jf) recently. Potentially well treated here and should be more to come.
Confirmed notion he was progressing over timber when holding on well to win Exeter handicap (2m2½f, good; 5-1) in early May. Since run well at Stratford (2m6f, good) in third spot and remains in the mix.
Missed two years following promising start to hurdles career in 2016. Has started to shape well in three outings this spring however and can hold place claims on those efforts.
Not doing a lot at present but this ground does seem to bring the best out in him, and given he's now some 9lb lower than his last win (albeit that came some while ago), he's hard to totally discount.
Didn't improve for switch to handicaps at Worcester (2m7f, good; 6-1) last month. Gets a hood added now and has to find extra with champion jockey returning in the saddle.
Modest on the Flat (maiden) but showed improved hurdles form when second over C&D last June. That was on the back of a 623-day layoff and has since missed another 368 days. Hard to know what to expect, watch betting.

Jane Lamb (11/4), Layerthorpe (6/1), Blue N Yellow (6/1), North Star Oscar (7/1), Sinakar (7/1), Ballyellis (8/1), Linguine (8/1), Pink Eyed Pedro (9/1), Champagne Chaser (10/1), Picture Painter (12/1), Caro Des Flos (14/1), Runasimi River (33/1)
This looks a good chance for JANE LAMB to get off the mark, having finished second on handicap bow at Stratford recently. She may have something in hand off this rating and is likely going to have more to offer. Consistency has been key lately for both Picture Painter and Blue N Yellow while Caro Des Flos ought to be better suited coming back down in trip.
- Jane Lamb
