Showed some promise on debut in a bumper at Warwick but is yet to deliver on the racecourse and needs to step things up considerably now. Only had three starts over hurdles but they've been poor efforts up to press.
Snippets of form over slightly further suggest the mare can pay her way before long; did disappoint when last seen but has had a wind op since. Yard highly respected and worth a betting check.
Has already won twice over hurdles and has more experience than a few of the others. Recent efforts do suggest she's reached the plateau in terms of improvement and has a bit to prove as both starts since returning from a break have been poor.
Was modest on the Flat but has won over hurdles since switching to her current yard; well held in two starts last month and is susceptible to a sucker punch from 3lb above that winning mark.
Form in point-to-points was modest but the mare has shown ability over hurdles; not least when second over C&D last July. Might have needed the run last time and can be expected to be sharper here. Worth considering.
Little to take from starts this calendar year and already has plenty to prove. Eye-catching jockey booking and fitting of cheekpieces need to spark a big improvement for it to become a winning combination.
Consistent yardstick and arrives in good heart after finishing second in each of her last three starts; feasibly well treated from 3lb below her last winning mark and should be suited by the ground. Reasonable place claims.
Suited by the trip and potentially well handicapped on past form; did lose her way for her former yard but possible the recent switch in trainer's will have revived her interest. The betting can guide on debut for in-form Dan Skelton.
Has won on on the Flat and seemed to like this course when tried here before (finished second here in a poor race last time out). This trip will extend her to the limit though.
2lb wrong at the weights and is a long standing maiden that needs to improve dramatically for being tried in cheekpieces for the first time.
0-18 under rules and has rarely even threatened to even make the frame; not hard to overlook on these unfavorable terms.
Hurdles form has been poor so far and is another who faces a tough ask in racing form out of the handicap against others who have proved to be more effective at this trip.
0-14 so far and has only made the frame on one occasion during (in a bumper on her racecourse debut three years ago). Well held in both starts since returning from a long absence.
Forecasts
Theatre Act (4/7), Mrs Miggins (17/2), Macca's Stowaway (9/1), Lee Side Lady (12/1), Infiniti (14/1), Kalaniti (14/1), Celtic Sally (20/1), Wild Eve (33/1), Lace Bonnet (33/1), Moor Freedom (33/1), Mileva Roller (40/1), Influential Lady (40/1), Remember Nerja (50/1)
A moderate start to the action and CELTIC SALLY gets only a speculative nomination as the one to be on; as she at least has gone well over C&D and and can be expected to be a lot sharper after her return to competition last month. Lee Side Lady is more consistent than most and looks a viable alternative if the betting market produces any negative vibe s about the selection; while Mrs Miggins, who returns from a wind operation, and Theater Act, who debuts for an in-form yard, are a couple of others to include on the shortlist.
- Celtic Sally
- Lee Side Lady
- Mrs Miggins
