French Flat winner in 2016, off the mark over timber at fourth attempt for this trainer when adopting front-running tactics at Ffos Las (2m, good) 12 days ago. Penalised but danger again if getting own way/handling softer ground.

Inexpensive mare, not unfancied on debut in Bangor bumper last month but finished well-held sixth of eight. Makes hurdles bow and may improve for that run.

Cape Fair14
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: C Brace(5)| T: G Hanmer| OR:  102
8/1
Latecomer having only debuted this spring at six-years-old. Much the best of her six efforts came when neck-second at Bangor (2m½f, good to soft) this month and will have claims with repeat if seeing this trip out.
4
Horse silk
9/2
French import, dual bumper winner making her hurdles debut for trainer/jockey pairing who are a formidable combination at this time of year. Sports array of headgear and can be a danger to forecast market leader.
Runner-up in Southwell maiden hurdle last month over minimum trip on good ground having gone off a 33-1 chance. Form may not amount to much and needs to step forward in this line-up.

Only had a couple of runs over hurdles but has been tailed off in both of them. Has also never ran on ground worse than good and she doesn't look to hold any sort of chance in this contest.

Forecasts

Valse Au Taillons (1/2), Evita Du Mesnil (9/2), Miss Brooklyn (13/2), Cape Fair (8/1), Artichoke Heart (25/1), Lyn's Secret (100/1), Callintheshots (100/1)

Verdict

Valse Au Taillons improved under positive tactics last time at Ffos Las and will be dangerous again the champion jockey if allowed to dictate matters now. That may not be the case and, at forecast prices, the value call could be another French import EVITA DU MESNIL. She had fair bumper form and should know her job starting out for Dr Richard Newland. Cape Fair is best of the remainder.
  1. Evita Du Mesnil
