Four-time course winner (three coming over this trip) who usually sets a blistering pace (did so when winning over 6f here, penultimate start). Not in the same form last time over 5f Bath under today's rider; may face some pace pressure.

Has started to look as though he may be on the way back with his second at Chepstow last time indicating a revival may be imminent. On a long losing run but he did well last time having set himself a difficult task (slow away); drops in grade.

Solid form of late with no problems handling this eccentric track (three-time winner here), scoring over C&D on his penultimate start under today's rider. Not disgraced at Bath last time (came from too far back) under a penalty; solid chance.

Yet to score on turf (0-8) but came back to form last time when winning first-time out on Fibresand (took well to the surface). Able to run off his lower turf mark here (6lb difference); enters calculations despite his turf record.

Strong in the market when last seen over C&D having been dropped in grade since joining this yard. Mark drops a further 3lb now (career-low) but does have work to do with Essaka on that last run; can be slowly away.

Looked far from straightforward when hooded for the first time dropping down to this trip at Windsor last time (handicap debut). Still searching for his initial success he's dropped 4lb for his second handicap start but makes limited appeal.

Six-time Flat turf winner (0-12 AW) she's never really looked at her best around this track (0-5). May well have needed the run last time (showed speed) but her stable are badly out of form; best watched in the context of this contest.

Well found in the market last time on the strength of his effort the time before when aggressively ridden at Chelmsford over 6f (did well to finish where he did). Not disgraced last time back at 5f but didn't get an easy lead; unlikely to do so here.

One of two runners in this field for the yard who are badly out of form at the moment. Disappointing for the most part this term finishing last of seven at Lingfield (5f, good) last time; again has to compete from out of the weights.

Verdict

Some of these have been in decent form of late with Essaka one of them and he’s no stranger to success around here have been successful three times at the track so far. He is 6lb higher than his C&D win though and beaten subsequently there are one or two that are preferred. The principal one would be LADWEB who has tumbled in the weights and showed last time that despite blowing the start he was still up to winning at this level. King Crimson needs no introduction around here although he can be a little in-and-out while the in-form AW performer Big Time Maybe has yet to score on turf.
  1. Ladweb
  2. Essaka
  3. King Crimson
