In good form with two near misses in the last three weeks and is only 3lb higher than when second over this trip at Kilbeggan last time. Still a maiden but going the right way to altering the label.

0-10 over hurdles but has snippets for form that create the impression he can pay his way; ease in the ground wouldn't be a problem but with only light showers predicted he might not encounter his ideal conditions.

Recent completion rate over fences is suspect, so the return to hurdles looks a sensible move. He's won over C&D before now and races from a 10lb lower mark here. Worth a betting check.

The poor form in the book up to press is uninspiring and the gelding is best watched on his first start since last October.

Tries this trip for the first time but wasn't beaten far over an extended 2m4f at Wexford 12 days ago; and created the impression he might need further. Will be wiser after the experiment.

0-9 but comes into this after his best effort to date when third of 18 Tipperary last month. Up just 1lb but might have more to offer now he's proved his stamina.

Sole previous win came in a point-to-point at Kinsale last summer; 0-9 under rules recent form has been poor. Others more convincing.

Last two starts have been reasonable efforts but has so far been unable to capitalise on what looks a lenient mark. Will be carrying on when others have cried enough, so feasible he can still make the frame.

Both previous career wins have been over 2m5f and it's been a while since the mare was tried over this distance; has a bit to prove but is on an attractive enough mark to merit a betting check.

0-7 over hurdles and plenty to prove after a strong of modest efforts. Others are much more interesting contenders.

Goes well with plenty of give underfoot but looked in need of the run on his seasonal return at Limerick last month. Lost his way a tad and now on a career lowest mark as a result. Difficult to see the 13-year-old improving.

Finished third over C&D earlier this month, which was his best efforts of the campaign so far. Well handicapped on the pick of his form but is already 0-15 over hurdles and has never been noted for consistency.

Behind Courtin Bd over 2m5f at Tramore latest was arguably his best effort for a while; still a maiden and not tried this trip since his point-to-pointing days; has a bit to find.

Another that is yet to win a race but is even more unconvincing than some given that she's never even made the frame before now either. Hard to recommend.

Little to glean from his three previous starts and best watched now he tries three miles for the first time.

Verdict

Not much strength-in-depth despite the numbers and it might be worth giving previous C&D winner OISIN JAMES another throw of the dice now he's on an attractive mark and pitted against a moderate bunch of rivals. Eimear is going the right way and could be a the main threat to the selection, while Humps And Bumps has a more solid chance of making the frame against a field stacked with doubtful stayers. Fr Gilligansvoyge and Courtin Bb are a couple of others to consider for places in the frame.
  1. Oisin James
  2. Eimear
  3. Humps And Bumps
