Winner over C&D of this contest 12 months ago beating 12 rivals by 10L off a 7lb lower mark. Has basically struggled since in three further hurdle appearances with the handicapper reluctant to loosen his grip.
Winner of four of his 12 starts over hurdles but nothing of note in a number of sporadic and inconsistent visits to the track in the last three years. Not in the form required to play a part.
Arakan gelding has won two of his last three starts over hurdles and is likely to be a major player in this contest on handicap debut representing a yard with a 29% strike rate at this meeting in the last four years.
Winner of three of his 21 starts over hurdles but is on a long losing run and has been struggling to make an impact since his return in March. Looks opposable.
Won a Clonmel 2m½f handicap last month getting off the mark at the 14th attempt. Beaten on latest start at Tramore but no surprise to see a return to form here for leading connections with a 49% win and place strike at this meeting since 2015.
Only career win in 14 starts came in minor hurdles event at Gowran Park all the way back in 2017. Makes little appeal based on what the Mastercraftsman gelding has shown in four starts since April.
Solid and consistent form in a number of starts since returning to action in April, including a win at Tramore when winning her maiden by over 7L. Holds strong place claims in a wide open contest.
Off the the mark for connections at the sixth time of asking when landing a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle off a 10lb lower mark last month. Very interesting progressive challenger in this contest.

Forecasts
Shimmer And Shine (3/1), Rakhine State (3/1), Zoffalee (7/2), Killiney Court (11/2), Le Vagabond (7/1), Skeaping (8/1), Masterstonemason (10/1), Mr Picotee (16/1), Mount Colah (20/1)
The Arakan gelding, RAKHINE STATE can win his third hurdle in four starts on his first start since April. The six-year-old is clearly a progressive sort and can win again at the expense of impressive Ballinrobe winner, Zoffalee who can emerge as the biggest danger. In a wide open handicap, Mr Picotee, C&D winner, Killiney Court and the Edward O'Grady-trained, Le Vagabond all appear capable of hitting the frame.
- Rakhine State
- Zoffalee
- Killiney Court
