Invincible Spirit colt who fetched 575,000gns as a juvenile (€90,000 yearling); good pedigree from a 1m1f Group 3 winning dam (Mare Nostrum); produced with a winning challenge on debut at Haydock (6f, good to firm) but run down late by Pierre Lapin.

40/1
Fifth foal; half-brother to a couple of winners, namely Fighting Irish (6f) and Well Done (5f AW); it's likely that a few of the others with 'sexier' pedigrees will prove stronger.

Verdict

An interesting maiden in which the Godolphin-owned VISIBLE CHARM is the only runner with previous racecourse experience. He was produced with what appeared to be a race winning challenge on debut at Haydock (6f) three weeks ago before the promising Pierre Lapin (Roger Varian) swept past inside the final furlong for an ultimately decisive 3½L win. Nevertheless, that was a pleasing opening effort and assuming that he copes with today's softer ground (the extra furlong should suit) he should have the measure of the newcomers Riot, Shared Belief and King's Caper.
  1. Visible Charm
  2. Riot
  3. Shared Belief
