Fair sort on the Flat when with Richard Hannon although he never won for that yard his only success coming for his current handler on debut up in trip (found a good opportunity). Ran well in handicap company last time; worth noting in the market.
Disappointed on his last Flat start (tried over 1m2f) having won over 7f as a two-year-old (should stay further) when with Iain Jardine. Now with a top-class jumps outfit who have a 3-21 record with their debutantes in this sphere.
With John Gosden on the Flat (fair sort, can be temperamental) with his only win on the level coming over 1m1f on the AW. Below-par in two Flat runs for this yard on turf of late; now makes his hurdles debut; yard 2-10 with newcomers in this sphere.
AW (Tapeta) winner when with Stan Moore earlier this year and looked back to form on his first outing for this yard over 1m2f at Sandown. Now makes his hurdles debut (yard 0-4 with newcomers); market to provide more guidance.
Offered very little to get excited about in two starts for Roger Charlton last year appearing to have learnt very little from her debut. Makes her hurdles/stable debut after being bought for £2,500 in December; hard to fashion a case for her.
The only runner in the field to have jumped a hurdle in public she made little impact on the Flat at up to 1m4f. Hinted at some ability in her first hurdles run although it's hard to see her making any further impact here.
Forecasts
Must See The Doc (4/9), War Eagle (7/2), Glorious Dane (6/1), Maria Magdalena (20/1), Warrior Display (33/1), Eucalyptus (40/1)
Always hard to know what to expect from juvenile hurdlers with five of the sextet seeing hurdles for the first time. Must See The Doc is sure to attract some support having shown some ability and winning form on the Flat (now with a top-class jumps outfit) but although underfoot conditions should be ideal there is a slight doubt about him over this trip. War Eagle also managed to win on the Flat but it remains to be seen how he takes to this sphere having had his share of quirks on the level. Stef Keniry has done well with her new recruits and scored with GLORIOUS DANE on his stable debut he may well be able to repeat the trick over hurdles.
- Glorious Dane
- Must See The Doc
- War Eagle
