Point-to-point winner with a solid record over fences under Rules despite the fact that he's yet to win over those obstacles. Now switches back to hurdles with trip/ground not a problem; looks to have a leading chance.
Would not be the first recruit from another yard to improve for the switch to this one. Shaped with a modicum of encouragement back over hurdles on GB/stable debut; looks the sort made for handicaps having gained a mark.

Hurdling newcomer having cost £68,000 after finishing runner-up on his only start in an Irish point-to-point some 16 months ago. Has winners in his pedigree albeit in the pointing sphere; worth a second glance in the market.

25/1
Debutant over hurdles who showed a lot more on his second run (first run back from a wind op) in a Plumpton quick ground bumper in May. That form is untested; half-brother to a couple of useful hurdler/chasers; could make his presence felt.
Unplaced in his sole outing in a PTP bumper (beaten 15L) there was more promise shown on his Rules debut in a Plumpton bumper. Bred to need time and distance (dam was a 3m chaser); others have stronger claims.

Modest maiden on the Flat (0-11) who stayed 2m but has raced too freely to do himself justice over hurdles so far (has run with a hood on). Needs to settle better to make an impression; needs this run for a mark, handicaps then an option.

Having shown some promise over hurdles she's in danger of becoming disappointing having taken a strong hold last time in a first-time hood (handicap debut). Drops back in trip here; chance if proving more tractable minus the hood this time.
Showed very little when making her debut at Chepstow in April finishing well held after always being behind her hurdling being off a scruffy nature. Would need to improve a great deal to get involved here stepping up 6f in trip.

Forecasts

Dancing In The Sky (1/1), Slaine (4/1), Danboru (9/2), Dontbitedabait (8/1), Moans Cross (14/1), Master Sam Bellamy (16/1), Lyrical King (25/1), Volavicious (150/1)

Verdict

The form that Danboru has shown over fences ought to be good enough if replicated over hurdles although that’s an unknown as he’s never been seen in this sphere before but is of interest. There are some unexposed sorts in this though headed by Dancing In The Sky who wouldn’t be the first horse to improve for the move to the Newland yard and shaped nicely on his GB debut. Lyrical King and Dontbitedabait both make their debuts over timber and can’t be ruled out but minus the hood this time SLAINE is given a chance to atone for the poor performance last time. Had looked to be going in the right direction prior to her last run and without the hood this time.
  1. Slaine
  2. Danboru
  3. Dancing In The Sky
