No doubting he is in good form after back-to-back wins on good ground. Still likely to be a major player, but may be vulnerable under a 10lb penalty.
Well held at 50-1 on April's rules debut at Ayr. Can only watch.

28-1 but ran with promise on debut when 9L fifth of 12 at Ayr (good) last month. Has to prove he handles slower ground, but if he acts on it, he could come into this.
Half-brother to four winners inc Close Touch (bumper/smart 2m-2m4f jumps), Open Hearted (bumper/2m1f-3m jumps) & Take To Heart (useful 2m4f-2m5f hurdle/chase), out of bumper winner. Represents top yard and can make good debut.
€26,000 filly, £48,000 3yo. Second foal. Dam unraced half-sister to 1m and 1m2f Listed/smart 2m-2m4f hurdle/chase winner Kalderon. Trainer has 28% strike rate in this sphere. Much respected newcomer.
Pulled up and fell in two Irish points in the winter. Tough task on rules debut.
First foal. Dam bumper winner/placed 2m3f and 2m5f hurdles, is granddaughter of sister to useful 2m-3m hurdle/chase winner Highfrith. Stable in good form and 15% in bumpers. interesting.
33-1 and well held on debut here (good to soft) in April. Can come on for that, but may have to wait for other days.

Forecasts

Keen On (11/10), Shanroe (9/2), Special Brute (11/2), Jack's A Legend (6/1), Biblical (8/1), Laurie Come On (9/1), La Chanteuse (20/1), Golden Chancer (20/1), Orient Sunset (25/1), Missie's Boy (40/1), Mannochmore (40/1), Forresters Park (50/1), Romalex (50/1), Wahwei Spirit (80/1)

Verdict

Shanroe is clearly in great nick and can't be ruled out again, but could find something too good under a 10lb penalty, and it looks worth chancing newcomer KEEN ON, from a stable that is always very competitive in this sphere. The same can be said of the trainer of Special Brute of course, and he also has experience, though you have to forgive his latest run. Laurie Come On, Jack's A Legend and Biblical are others to consider.
  1. Keen On
  2. Special Brute
  3. Shanroe
