Run better than his finishing position would suggest in his last three starts; now slipped back below his last winning mark. Couldn't quite get to grips with front-running winner Darcy Ward last time over 2m3f; yet to win beyond 2m6f.

Did well to overcome a bad blunder plus chasing inexperience when winning off a break at Uttoxeter last time (3m, good). Won two of his last three chase starts; still looks unexposed in this sphere; up 6lb but capable of winning this.

Stepped forward on his chasing debut when travelling and jumping far better on his second start in this sphere at Bangor over 3m. Has on occasions looked a little quirky; will continue to progress though; real test of stamina to suit.

Completed a four-timer over hurdles (won twice here); appeared to appreciate a break and a drop in the weights last time when gaining his initial chase win. Handicapper has rather clobbered him for that win (10lb rise); runs off new career-high mark.

Forecasts

Cesar Et Rosalie (11/8), Marble Moon (5/2), Stockburn (3/1), Bally Longford (4/1)

Verdict

A fascinating small field handicap chase where all four can be given some sort of chance with slight preference for CESAR ET ROSALIE after his career-best performance at Uttoxeter last time. Up 6lb for that win this is a drop in class and he looks very much to be going the right way over fences. Stockburn has made a decent start to his chasing career and he along with other last-time out scorer Marble Moon look to be the main threat to the selection although the latter does face a stiff task at the weights and is minus Adam Wedge who has ridden him to all his wins. Bally Longford only found a progressive sort too good last time but faces some improving youngsters in this.
  1. Cesar Et Rosalie
  2. Stockburn
  3. Marble Moon
