Winner of her last two starts here over 7f, back in September and then again last month on second start back after winter stint (winless) in Dubai. Up 5lb for decisive success last time, stays this trip and Royal Ascot-entered filly can go well.

Lightly-raced daughter of Declaration Of War, 3-8 and comes here off a career-best showing at York (7f, good to firm; 6-1) when game getting back up to edge verdict on the line. Raised 4lb and firmly in the mix despite class-rise.

More exposed than a few of these, consistent sort on turf but on three wins in 21 starts. Went close on sole AW start over 7f here last summer in lower-grade. Trainer/jockey in form but needs extra.

Dawn Approach filly, novice winner at Lingfield (6f, AW) a year ago, also won a handicap at Pontefract (6f, good to firm; 8-13f) in July. Well held two turf runs in this grade so far this term, big step forward required here.

Improved on earlier efforts when winning a 7f novice at Lingfield (AW) by 2½L on final start last year (form strong). Ran well to a point on return at Doncaster (1m, good; 8-1) last month and may be sharper now. Has to improve on form, however.

Forecasts

Victory Wave (2/1), Romola (2/1), Agincourt (4/1), Octave (7/1), Elysium Dream (8/1)

Verdict

VICTORY WAVE sets a solid standard and relishes this course to boot. The mare won nicely over 7f here on her second start after a winter stint in Dubai and could have more to offer again as she looks to cement a Royal Ascot berth. Romola looked in need of the run at Doncaster on return and is expected to take a step forward back on an artificial surface while the game Agincourt can also have a say.
  1. Victory Wave
  2. Romola
  3. Agincourt
