Winner here last year over 7f and got up late on despite coming under pressure to score over C&D five days ago. Carries a 5lb penalty for his troubles but likely will go well again around here in a weak field.
10-race maiden, best efforts have arrived over this trip and no surprise to find 5½f at Bath last time was too sharp. First-time cheekpieces and not ruled out on best form with that in mind.
Mare has had 38 attempts now and remains a maiden. She has however been competitive in four starts at this track during 2018 over 7f/1m. Can run well again and would be a deserving winner at this stage.
Veteran, ran third here over 7f last month at 28-1, though not able to get as close last week over the mile (seventh of 13) and opposable in twilight of his career.
2-34 career record and hasn't scored since 7f AW win at Wolverhampton in late 2017. Has racked up 10 runs in that sphere already this year and threatened on more than one occasion. Back on turf and needs a good day.
Course winner placed on final four starts here last campaign including when third in a big field over C&D last October. Shaped as if needing the run on last month's return here.
Filly remains a maiden after nine starts and has failed to progress over the last 12 months or so. Back from a short break and needs to improve significantly.
Paco Boy mare, unplaced in seven career outings so far. Shaped marginally better in maiden handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW; 80-1) in January but still very hard to put faith in after break since.
1-10 having landed a low-grade 7f AW Lingfield handicap (6-1) in December off a mark of 49. Struggled in pair of runs there afterwards, now back from a break on turf. Finds another fairly weak contest, watch betting.
Made his handicap debut over C&D 13 days ago and was beaten 5¾L into fifth of 14, never troubling the principals. Has time on his side and not devoid of promise in that run.
Yet to get competitive in six-race career, including three starts in AW handicap this spring over 7f/1m. First-time visor added for this return to turf and must have a positive effect to get competitive.
Sepoy filly, of limited ability based on six-race career to date which included spin over C&D in October (good to firm) that yielded 10+L defeat. Very poor in three 2019 starts so far. Tongue-tie tried now.
Epaulette filly for whom it has proved hard going since making a promising debut at Goodwood (6f, good to firm; 25-1) last July. Ran up with pace last time at Bath (1m, firm; 20-1) before weakening in final two-furlongs.
Forecasts
Confrerie (6/5), Harlequin Rose (7/1), Diamond Pursuit (8/1), Joyful Dream (17/2), Kellington Kitty (10/1), Beg For Mercy (14/1), Swiss Cross (14/1), Keep It Country Tv (16/1), Dragon Kuza (16/1), Quarto Cavallo (25/1), Cedar (25/1), Paco Dawn (33/1), Star Attraction (40/1)
Last week's course winner CONFRERIE shouldn't be too inconvenienced by the drop in distance here and he's got his winning penalty offset by young Cieren Fallon taking over on board. There aren't many of his rivals with strong form coming into this and he's the obvious choice to follow-up. Kellington Kitty may go well in new headgear over this more suitable trip while Harlequin Rose has a solid profile at this venue – which counts for plenty – and should be all the sharper for the reappearance here last month.
- Confrerie
- Harlequin Rose
- Kellington Kitty
