Scored over fences at the second attempt last month at Hexham over this trip. He made all on his most recent success and he should take up the running here again. Stable are in great form and if he improves further, he is the one to beat here.
Won twice as a novice hurdler, including a nice race over the extended 2m3f distance at Ascot. Hung left in the Lanzarote at Kempton on his last appearance before being pulled up. Chase debut. One to watch for big yard.
Solid hurdler who has won on four occasions. Jumped right on his chase debut at Fontwell back in October. Will need to be much better this time around but is worth keeping an eye on.
Still a maiden over fences in seven starts. Was a beaten favourite at Cheltenham last time out where he weakened in the closing stages of the extended 2m trip. May have needed that run last time so expect him to be much sharper here.
Started his career with two consecutive wins, one in a bumper and the other in a maiden hurdle. His form at the back end of last season was disappointing, however, this is his first run since wind surgery so one to watch.
A winner over hurdles at Warwick (2m3f) last time out. Making his chase debut here and if he can transfer his form across to fences, he is one of the leading contenders in the race.
Winner of two novice hurdle races in 2017. Returned after over two years off the track last time at Warwick where he needed the run. Chase debut today and is one to watch.
Forecasts
Potterman (11/10), Notwhatiam (9/2), Doux Pretender (7/1), Tales Of The Tweed (8/1), Gustave Mahler (9/1), Malton Rose (11/1), Ennistown (14/1)
You have to be impressed with the way NOTWHATIAM made all at Hexham last time on his second start over fences. He could be open to further improvement and represents a yard who are bang in form. It is interesting to see that connections have opted for Potterman to make his chase debut following his recent success over hurdles at Warwick, while Doux Pretender is another one who is jumping fences for the first time but cannot be ignored.
