Completed a hat-trick at Warwick over 2m on Wednesday. Has a 7lb penalty but given how good he has been over the last couple of weeks, he has to be considered as the one to beat here.
Fell on his seasonal reappearance at Huntingdon but, if you can forgive than run, he finished last season with two solid outings, the last of which was a second place at Bangor over the extended 2m1f trip. One to watch.
Has failed to build upon his Southwell maiden hurdle success from December 2017. Jumped poorly on his debut for his new stable last month at Bangor. Others preferred.
This will be his third attempt over fences and so far he has shown very little on his two starts. Lightly raced so there could be more to come but will need to improve considerably to be in the mix.
Still looking for his first win under Rules. Was fifth here on his last start over 2m4f where he didn't quite stay the trip. Back down to a suitable distance. One to watch.
Back over obstacles after a campaign on the AW earlier in the year. This will be his chase debut and if he takes to fences, he would have an each-way chance in the race, given what he showed over hurdles a couple of years ago.
Making her chase debut here in what is her third start of the year. Was fifth at Chepstow last time where she was outpaced in the closing stages. One to watch on opening start over fences.
Ran moderately well in his two starts over hurdles earlier in the season, with his best effort coming when fourth at Uttoxeter over this distance. Chase debut so open to improvement.
Was second at Warwick over hurdle (2m3f) last month in what is his best outing of the year so far. Another one who is over fences for the first time but others are preferred.
Forecasts
Alltimegold (1/1), Zoltan Varga (5/1), Flints Legacy (7/1), Auld Sod (7/1), Sir George Somers (14/1), Super Sid (14/1), Dragon Khan (16/1), Hillview Lad (25/1), Dreyfus (25/1)
ALLTIMEGOLD has proved unstoppable over the last couple of weeks, with a hat-trick of wins coming at this trip. He should be able to prevail again here despite the penalty. Zoltan Varga is much better than when he fell at Huntingdon last time and if he bounces back from that outing, will be a key player, while Sir George Somers is the interesting horse in the race as he is over fences for the first time which might just be what he needs.
- Alltimegold
- Zoltan Varga
- Sir George Somers
