Sales price decreased markedly since he was sold for €40,000 as a three-year-old with his form proving to be ordinary in bumpers. Struggled when making his hurdling debut last year; way out of his depth on his initial chase start.

Hurdles winner over 2m4f when completing a three-timer back in 2015 (also showed some useful form over fences that same season). Hasn't reached those heights since; returns from another long absence; tough task at the weights.

Course regular over hurdles whose pedigree gives some hope that may take to well to this sphere. Shaped well over hurdles over a similar trip returning from five-months off last time; would need to improve to win this though.

4/6
Useful hurdler who returns from that discipline for another crack at chasing having not convinced over fences the first time around (albeit in warm company). This is a far lesser test than he's been given before; has to find some fluency over fences.

Tongue-tie goes straight on for his Rules/stable debut having cost £7,500 after winning a small-field Irish PTP on his only start in that sphere. May well win races in this sphere but does face a couple of useful sorts today.

6/4
Useful hurdler who ran well below that level when sent chasing (not suited by how the race was run; needs a thorough test). Mistakes eventually contributed to his downfall; room to progress though, should have learnt from the experience.

Forecasts

No Hassle Hoff (4/6), Who's My Jockey (6/4), Too Wise Man (14/1), Lawtop Legend (33/1), Central Flame (40/1), Amarone Gentleman (125/1)

Verdict

The two leading players in this on hurdles form bring far from solid form into this over fences with No Hassle Hoff having his second crack at chasing and coming here off a disappointing hurdles effort last month. He needs to jump with more fluency but will find this an easier test than he’s been given so far over the larger obstacles. On hurdles ratings WHO'S MY JOCKEY has his measure but like his main rival there remains a doubt about his jumping having made plenty of errors on his Newton Abbot debut. It’s hoped that this stiffer test will suit him better. The remainder face a stiff test at the weights but Too Wise Man merits respect on his first Rules start having won a point-to-point.
