Allelu Alleluia42
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  137
7/1
Picked up two 2018 wins after going chasing, scoring at Southwell (2m3½f, good) in June and Worcester (2m7f, good) in October. Promising seasonal bow at Ludlow (second) in March and this less taxing after being pulled up last month at Cheltenham.

Beau Du Brizais23
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: R Johnson| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  135| D
1/1
Dual winner at Ludlow last season, both over trip beyond 3m, he took advantage at Kempton (3m, good, good to firm in places) when the front pair in the betting were pulled up, coming through to win decisively. Contender for more honours now.

Gentleman Jonb,t45
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-4| J: T J O'Brien| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  129| C
10/1
Likeable veteran, winner of 3m1f good-ground Wincanton handicap chase in one of only two starts in 2018 (won in May) and should be fitter for last month's hurdles spin at that track, his only run since.
4
Horse silk
San Satirop45
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-7| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  118
7/4
Tailed off in 2-3 starts over fences, though showed promise in third of eight in between times at Wincanton (3m1f, good) in January. No threat back over timber last month, but does come here with champion trainer in form (3-6 lately).

Forecasts

Beau Du Brizais (1/1), San Satiro (7/4), Allelu Alleluia (7/1), Gentleman Jon (10/1)

Verdict

Not a contest where any of the quarter should be ruled out but the solid one on form is BEAU DU BRIZAIS. He admittedly was the beneficiary of two fancied rivals being pulled up at Kempton recently when he gained his third chase win, but he nevertheless goes about his business in dependable fashion. Allelu Alleluia should find this water less choppy having been pulled up at Cheltenham last month. San Satiro has work to do but represents a yard in form while the old boy, Gentleman Jon, should be better suited back over fences with a run behind him.
  1. Beau Du Brizais
  2. Allelu Alleluia
  3. San Satiro
